BUFFETSOnly_a_ginger wrote: »Hello!
I've been reading this thread for quite a while, and am hoping you regulars can help me out!
The gf wants to get married, I'm not bothered but I know she doesn't care how....I kinda want to to make her happy, and think getting married in Vegas would be awesome (and amazingly cheesy!).
So, is Vegas doable, for 2, for £2k? I'm thinking flights and hotel for 4ish nights?
Is it as seen in films etc as easy as turning up to a wedding place and getting married, or is there more to it than that?
Thanks for your help!
P.s. I don't plan on doing any laundry
Congratulations
We got married there in 2010 and it was fab for what we wanted (basically, to get married in a quirky way with no fuss or arguments!) You can just turn up at a chapel but you might have to queue at busy times. We booked a wedding package, in advance, through www.viator.com at A Special Memory Chapel http://www.aspecialmemory.com
We went for the drive-thru package, got picked up by a limo at 10am, driven to the County Clerk's Office to pick up our license, taken to the chapel, married at 11am and then back to our hotel afterwards. I wholeheartedly recommend the Chapel as long as your wife-to-be isn't the jealous type as the (really lovely) Pastor/Celebrant there is unbelievably stunning!
Apart from having to wait in the limo for about 10-15 mins at the Chapel, everything went just perfectly and the whole thing came in at under £250 (my dress was £12 in the USC sale!)They do loads of different packages now - something to suit pretty much everyone
You can also pre-apply for your wedding license online before you go to beat the queues - the lady on the desk said we were the first couple from overseas that she knew of who'd done it though!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Yep it's as simple as going to the court house, getting your marriage license and then going to a chapel. Guess it depends on how fancy you want the actual ceremony...that will define which chapel to pick. Lots of different themes to chose from. Also will be people be traveling with you to see the ceremony...or you can have them watch back home via webcam at some chapels too.0 -

Then drive to Arville St. pull in at Wizard of Suds, and DO YOUR SMALLS! (mention you just got married and you will get the "just married special"*) of free soap and free dryer:T
* I made that bit upThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

CASINOSI think it's pretty much finalised that I am going in June 2013 now. There is a convention I want to attend from 8th-15th June. But I would also like to go the Vegas date of the Warped Tour (a music festival which goes across the whole USA), but the dates for Warped Tour haven't been announced yet. The first Warped date doesn't tend to be until about 16th-18th June though, hopefully Vegas will be one of the first dates.Aria (pronounced Hairier)
Really?! I've always pronounced it like Arr-rier...!0 -

Not quite as easy as "just turning up", first you need your licence. That you get from the courthouse downtown. I think it cost us about $60? Just show up with your passport and stand in the queue, or as has been mentioned pre register. If you have been married before you will need your decree. Then if you want to do cheep and really cheesy, if you are hiring a car, just drive the the Little White Wedding Chapel, they have a drive in booth, just wait in line, drive up, say your vows, hand over $50, and hey presto, you are married. Worked for us.
Then drive to Arville St. pull in at Wizard of Suds, and DO YOUR SMALLS! (mention you just got married and you will get the "just married special"*) of free soap and free dryer:T
* I made that bit up
I wonder if that's changed, because me and Mr Dontone didn't take our passports with us to get our licence. What happened is that DH got his tux from Irene's and we got a free limo ride to the courthouse (curtosey of the 6'4 limo driver called Roy) we queued up, filled in the form, got asked if we were brother & sister (that's a jokebtw) and handed over $50 - sorted. Roy picked us up, gave us a tour of Downtown and the tux was waiting for us when we got back.

Hi All,
Been a while since i was last on here... off to Vegas next April on a stag do.
Does anyone have any websites or info on Vegas for stag do's???
I fear it could be hard getting into bars and clubs with large male groups. My my previous trip to Vegas was with a mix group so didn't have that problem.
We booked MGM with Virgin direct flights for £660 which i thought was a good price for those who are interested in prices.
Last trip got cancelled due to the Ash Cloud so cant wait to get back!!!!
Thanks!0 -
Go back around 20 pages or so for details of the guy/co who do the nightclub tours/entry. I think they match up a stag party with a hen party to get you both in!!!illegitimi non carborundum0
