    Groupon.com - solved

Register your credit card before placing the order and it accepts the post code no problem. Try putting it in at the time of ordering and it won't accept it.

Groupons now printed, thanks for your help.

Should I take all cash or some cash and my debit card? I have only ever been Tenerife before and always used my card if I needed too.

We always take enough cash for 1/2 our trip with us...it's just what we do, it's what we are comfortable doing - I have visions of being stuck in the gambling capital of the world with a blocked debit card or something :)...others will just take a small amount and withdraw as and when...but depending on what card you have the fees may be a bit painful.

I'm loving the real-time updates. I don't think we've ever been to Vegas when it's been that bad in terms of rain...we were there once when there was a mini-monsoon and we were somewhere - I say maybe the Stardust parking lot, hubby says CC parking lot - and it was so flooded, we were trying to walk from the parking lot to the casino but it was quite deep (not nearly so bad as it sounds like it was, but cover your shoes deep) and some random stranger leaving the car park pulled up and offered us a ride through to the front of the property.

And we'll be there in 5 weeks - 5 weeks from just about now. Cannot wait!

Taxi driver today was saying that he drove through water 2ft deep in places on/around the Strip and saw some cars get stuck!

Ted Pretty was saying they've had nearly the annual rainfall already this year (about 4 inches I think). McCarran had about 1" yesterday.

taxi driver also pointed out the building/condo out the front of City Centre which has never been occupied - they're having to reinforce the foundations and so there's a fair bit of roadworks going on. Apparently they had to do something similar to MGM ages ago.

going to try the new Caesars buffet tonight!

Well it has certainly dried up today, however the loungers at the Platinum have rather wet cushions on them. Everyone was still lying on them, maybe they'll be drier tomorrow. It's toasty hot again, it was actually freakily almost cold last night. We went to McMullan's quiz in the car but it was freezing in there and we were doing pretty badly on the quiz so left. Also been a bit stressed because we had a bump in the car yesterday. Didn't want to say too much about it earlier because I was unsure how it would all work out. We took the car over to dollar at TI at 9am this morning, and got it all sorted. Guy just asked us to stand to the side and fill in the form in and that was it, then gave us a different car. We were quite worried about what would happen. Was a bit nervy about driving afterwards yesterday, we had to wait almost 3 hours for the police to come as well because of the floods, so it was a pretty miserable afternoon. The guy who we were in the bump with was pretty decent though and we stood and chatted to him while we waited for the police etc, and all was ok. I don't know if the law is the same here, but neither of us admitted fault but no-one seemed to be in denial either. In hindsight I decided it was his fault, I was going to change lanes, but when he explained to the police it sounded like he had moved across 2 lanes at once so really not a very smart move.

Anyway, spa bath now filled, washing machine on :rotfl:, an going to get down to Sunset Station for dinner.

It's our second last night now, got lots of things we'd like to do, but after yesterday I think we're just content to take it easy a little and not worry. Has been a stressful 24 hours and have only really just calmed down properly at the pool this afternoon.
  • Hey, just paid 15 dollars for 24 hour wifi access at the Cosmo, where I'm staying. Vegas is non stop I'm finding it very hard to walk with all my blisters lol. When we checked in on Sunday was told I can leave a 300 dollar deposit for the room as we're staying 11 nights and was worried I didn't have the cash in my account for 150 dollars per night. We're debating where to go for tea any ideas? Somewhere. Near Cosmo that has live entertainment or something.also got a Vegas guide on the strip and noticed some good deals not sure whether there the best though? What's the best company to fly with? We got stuck in ny ny yesterday with the rain but decided to try and get back to our hotel got soaked x

Going to point this out in case people don't know. Wynn buffet has a champagne bump at $12.00 on every buffet. You can pay this and get unlimited champagne at any time - ie not just on Saturdays and Sundays. Only risk is a hangover :rotfl: It's a fantastic buffet, think we're going on our last night (tomorrow) :(
