Wasn't the opening ceremony good in places!! I really enjoyed the time with my family drinking prosecco and eating nibbles as we sang along to the tunes. Shame it ended with a past it - can't sing anymore - needs to give up mcartney! It was terribly sad watching Ali as he couldn't even touch the flag or wave, i've never seen parkinsons at its worst like that and i don't think i ever want to again :/

I hope everyone enjoyed it, i'm going to try and brave going to london to watch some outside screen olympics in a hope to feel like i went....a bit!

I loved the opening ceremony, think it was just the right balance of celebration of all things British and humour. I agree with Vix - should have ended with the fireworks and not Paul Mc, whose voice just isn't strong enough any more. I wish I lived a bit closer to London Vix, would definately go along so that I could feel a bit more involved.

Fred - could you put me down for 1 hour Bodypump and a 2 mile walk for me today. I am really enjoying Bodypump at the minute - but in some ways it just doesn't seem right to not be out of breath at the end of the hour. I need to make sure that I plan in enough aerobic exercise as well.

I went to the Olympic footie at Cardiff yesterday - can't afford to go up to London. It was really good though - they've still got Olympic tickets left if anyone is interested (and can afford it):

I agree that Macca although a legend needs to be retired for the big events - surely there's someone else who could be rolled out?

It was shocking and sad to see Ali like that - no one should suffer like that.

It was quite funny to see the Queen cleaning her nails as the GB team came into the arena though - I wonder if she had her ear plugs in again like at the concert so wasn't aware of what was being announced.

For next months challenges the team challenge will be Red, White, or Blue (I did think about gold, silver, bronze but thought most people would go for gold!!). Please post below if you wish to join in and which team you wish to go for.

The exercise challenge will be to exercise for the equivalent of 302 miles as there will be 302 gold medals awarded during the olympic games. You can do a % of it if you prefer (ie 100th will be 3.02 miles etc) or you can log your exercise and activities and see where you end up. Please post below if you want to join in.

Also if you wish to join in the 5lb challenge please post below :T

    Hi all

STS for me again - seems to be the theme for this month, but things are going to start happening again next month. I've given myself a kick up the bum* and committed to start tracking on WW again - I'm quite pleased that I've managed to maintain my weight without tracking, but I've still got plenty to lose so it's not enough just to maintain.

I'd like to be WHITE please Fred, and you can put me down for both challenges.

Good luck to everyone else with your weigh-ins.

    LL :)

    * anyone remember that great ugly boot picture we used to have many threads ago? I bet Beanie does, and maybe Vix.

    Lol - I didn't notice this Fred.

Back at bootcamp tonight - shattered - lol. Could you put me down for
    1 hour please Fred.

Red team for me please. I will attempt the 5 lb challenge, but seem to be doing really badly with this the last few months. Could you also put me down for the exercise challenge - I will log and see how far I get.

    Thanks,

    Jess
