Today my loan repayment went out of the bank - only 2 more payments to make and then bye-bye loan :T My bank have already started calling and asking if I want to take out another loan
Also I had a Sainsbug order delivered yesterday. They'd subbed 2 bottles of wines from the 3 for £12 deals to ones I don't like and subbed 3 of the 6 dishes in the £10 takeaway deal which I also didn't like so it all got sent back (not the whole order, just those 2 complete deals) I expected £22 back as that what the deals cost but nooooooo - they've refunded full price for each of the 9 items making a total of £40.62 :T £18.62 bonus. SO my weekly shop minus the treats came to £21.73 with delivery:D:D AND I have £40.62 to treat myself with. Need to replace the missing wine
- a trip to Mr A for 3 for £10, still leaves me £30.62 up
#012 £2879/£6583 43.7%
That's fantastic about the loan and the shopping woohoo! :beer:DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

Had to pop in and say I'm playing the pad game this week. However, rather than bore you all with silly updates every day I'll wait til Friday. Hopefully I might be able to pay off another chunk then too, I almost can't bear the excitement!:rotfl::rotfl:
I'm in a growly mood and thought I might share with you lot, so rant ready....
So you all know I'm moving to the lovely Wales, where you walk past someone in the street and nod "alright?" and they say hello to you yessum? Well I announced this onto my fb status a few days ago that I was starting to consider areas to move to. Noone really responded other than a few friends of my OH that already live in Wales, they came up with really helpful stuff actually bravo to them.
Well... went out for drinks with my housemate last night and a few of her mates (used to be mine to but they all dropped me because a guy I was dating when I decided to move to London (mates had been nagging for months) turned round and told everyone I only moved because of him WHAT?!?!). Anyway... one of them who lives with that !!!!! decided to corner me about moving away saying "I know you don't care about my opinion but... does you OH really love you, are you happy, you have to make the effort with your friends when you move away, you should stay in London, etc, etc". Honestly she should have stopped at the "don't care" bit because I really don't. But it has now left me wondering whether the "friends" you know the rubbish ones I know in London, are all talking about me behind my back saying that I'm only moving to Cardiff because of a boy? Not that I really care, it's going to save me a small fortune, I'll be closer to the boy, everyones friendlier and I will be able to get a clean slate. I'm just annoyed that people think they can cast their opinion on you when you really don't give a flying.....Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

This weeks mini challenge: keeping it local
A relatively simple one this week, although not sure everyone will join in if you love your online shopping so much. I'd like you to go to your local butchers, bakers, or greengrocers for some shopping stuff. Butchers sell cheap cuts of meat that are of a higher quality than those that you get in the supermarket, investigate cuts such as shoulder, urm can't think of the other cheap ones I'm a veggie! but there are lots! R1ver cottage bloke has guidance I do believe. Greengrocers generally sell veg that lasts longer than the supers as it hasn't spent x amount of days ripening in a lorry it actually tastes better too. Nothing beats the taste of a tommy off the vine in the garden though. So this week it's about getting the most value from your pennies and sticking high quality, good value things in your tummies.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Pfft Kerri, you should have told her to stick her opinion where the sun dont shine, its your decision where you live, why you move (and even if it WAS for a bloke, though def not saying thats the reason ) its up to you, your a grown woman whos perfectly capable of making her mind up where she wishes to live and for what reasons.
With regards to places to live, I suppose it depends on what part of Wales your looking at, DH and all his family are from Cardiff, Penarth is a lovely town though expensive, Cardiff Bay has had so much work done to it and the flats are lovely inside with nice views (our nephew lives there :rotfl:). Not a huge fan of Dinas Powys, and some parts of the Valleys look rough, Couldnt help with any other area im afraid, we rarely go out of that areaSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -
Jakes-mum, precisely I really should have told her to go stick it, but I seem to remember I just couldn't be bothered with her last night and all I was thinking was "thank you for confirming I'm doing the right thing". It always makes me wonder how dull someones life must be that they have to occupy themselves with what other people are doing.
I think I'm going to move to Penylan if I can find somewhere nice, I want a house with a garden otherwise the bay would be lovely. But if I had a flat where would my blackcurrant and redcurrant bushes go (pretty much all the other plants I've tried to grow have died so far, other than onions and garlic!).
I'm going to be running late for my first ever W.I meeting tonight grrr ruddy trains, oh well, hope they'll not mind and still let me inBest go see Mr Paddington Bear, speak to you all later xx

My my, this forum is always full of busy bunnies! I never have time to catch up!
Kerri- it's your decision to move, but people are selfish and love having you in easy reach! IF it doesn't work out, then you can always go back?
Some friends told me I would be better unemployed waiting for a convenient job nearby to fall into my lap, instead of moving 400 miles away for a job I really wanted! But I got some debt busting to do, so here I am
On that note, I just discovered I can't reduce my overdraft except in branch, and my nearest branch is 400 miles away! Dang it...0 -
YoungBusinessman wrote: »Thank you very much. We sure will be much closer to having them paid off by Xmas..I'm giving it a right go to push on and I don't think il be happy unless it's right down into single figure by Xmas. I don't see why it won't be. I will be advertising in local paper next 3 months to try and bring more work in for outside my main contact job. Not sure how much it will cost yet but will only need 2 decent jobs from it to cover costs and make some money, anymore will be a good bonus.
I am also selling off some machinery..will be looking to get around £1500 for it. Again, anymore is a bonus. Surplus to requirements so hopefully I can sell pretty soon. I am owed £1800 from previous job...might suggest £200 a month payments or something just to claw back as much as I can,it's been 6 months!!
Apart from that,on a personal front not spent a penny all weekend, this week should be a no spend and all I need next weekend is diesel for work van. Everyday I feel more and more positive about getting to my lovely. Debt free date. At the moment it must be sometime late 2013 even. Early 2014 so will try and bring it forward to early 2013 at latest. Thanks guys, great thread, see you all on savings board next year lol.
Sounds like you are doing great already!! Yes I'm hoping to be on the savings board too by about April next year - will be the first time I've ever saved lolPay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

Loan payment has cleared today so update:
#003 £7,174 / £12,459
Not quite as much as I would like, but I'm saving up to pay off my last loan and the good news is I've upped my savings towards this to £1,500 this month as well. Hopefully just 3-4 months to go until I can pay it all off if everything goes to plan.
Welcome to the new members and congratulations to everyone sticking with this challenge and reducing their debt. And a big thanks to Jemma as always for keeping the thread on track!
