Yes it's 38.61% but I'm guessing the maths was just the wrong way round, as Bongle still owes 61% :)

I'm trying to write my uni assignment which is due tomorrow... I'm doing well, can you tell!?

Can't pay much more off debt this month as Mr S bought me a more expensive sewing machine than thought for my birthday so I have to either give him some towards it or put the money towards our spending in Grimsby this weekend. Got a busy couple of days coming up... the Harry Potter studio tour tomorrow, followed by chinese with friends, and something secret on Thursday followed by cocktails and an american-diner type dinner :D then sat and sun night in Grim for a christening so I do hope the weather stops being miserable!

Just had a look at the monthly report on money for April, and we spent £460 again on food, but our budget is only £220! Oh well, should be better this month as we're going back to aldi/lidl from this weekend.

I'm on a train chooo chooo, I have never got a train from East to West before! Wales watch out! I was most confused when I went past my old office the wrong way!

Just wanted to say well done to everyone that's been making payments, we're 5/12th's of the way there now and the amount we've all collectively paid off is amazing, just think how much interest we're all no longer paying to the creditors!!! We may have slips every now and again, but we all get up and persevere with our joint goal which is fabulous.

I have been somewhat of a lurker recently as I've been doing 12 hr days between Bmth and Reading for a course, then looking after my 2 year old nephew over the weekend. This week is another busy week with meetings in different parts of the south, but I always read all the updates on my phone and smile at the funny things that are send and send virtual hug thoughts to those that need them.

My way of thinking about money has completely changed, I no longer panic when I think about it, and where I've started to budget (although it goes to pot in the first few days normally) I actually feel like I have a lot more money now than I used to.

Jemma, the £50 a week is going erm.... well this train has cost over £70 but that's on work expenses ;) all I've spent this week is £26 on myself and that was postage and a lovely Saturday tea which my sister split costs on. I have changed my way of thinking, as I said. I know that I need to have £250 leftover after I've paid my bills and anything extra can go towards my debts. This month it's the turn of the OD and I'm really hoping I can keep the money in my b/a long enough for it to clear the OD at the end of the month but it might be a tough one as I've never had more than £100 let alone £600 at the end of the month!!!

Ooh this is a looong post sorry.

Anyway, ways my money mind has changed...
    * I now shop around for the best bargains, looking for discounts, checking shelf labels (picking two smalls bars of choc instead of one large one).
    * Looking for outlet villages near where I'm working so I can stock up on chocolate and buy clothes MUCH cheaper!
    * Changing to a fortnightly veg box so I don't need to go to the SM anymore
    * Bulk buying to reduce the overall cost, although the initial outlay is high, the savings are well worth not going out drinking for a week
    * Cut down on my socialising, having realised that going out and getting drunk talking drivel to people that don't really care about me really wasn't fulfilling
    * Taken up a hobby to pass my time and hopefully make some money from this, although shopping around for the supplies to get the best deal possible
    * Learnt that cheapest isn't always best but it's quality & value that are more important. One example is the GORGEOUS DR meat, it's the only meat that doesn't set off my IBS because the quality is amazing and if I can get TCB and discount codes then it costs the same anyway.
    * Using cashback websites and fleabaying stuff to make a bit of extra money :)

Again sorry for the long post, but I haven't posted in ages and thought I'd share how I've been getting on :) £2k to go and really looking forward to the finish line xx

Bonglecat you are doing so WELL :T I think that's it really isn't it, i like having things like a tv, nice food, drinking with friends and going out for food etc etc, but i don't actually NEED any of those things. I really want to get out of debt so that's what I NEED before doing anything else. I actually live pretty frugally now, I haven't bought any clothes for months (except things for my business, which i do need lol) when i used to buy clothes every few weeks.
Right I am off to look at my bank balance to see what I can afford to pay towards debts.
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D

Hi, yes I did have it as 38.6% until yesterday when I got confused as to which way you guys are reporting it and I changed it round Duh!! :o

Just one more thing the figure you quote at the front, is that how much left to pay or how much you've paid off? Because mine is how much I've got left to pay, is that right?
