CASINOSWhile we are on the subject, does anyone have any email addresses for contacts at different casinos rather than the standard public ones?
We are flying out on my daughters 21st this year and wanted to see if i can blag anything special for her. I know its a long shot but im a member of !!!!!! and TR etc.
This will be trip #8 for us and my daughter last came with us when she was 17.
Last year we stayed at the Signature which we both liked so if anyone has a good contact email i would appreciate it.
I have managed to get Virgin to give us passes to the UC lounge at gatwick so far.
We did get good casino rates last year but !!!!!! isnt offering anything so far despite us being the same tier as last year.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYJEN JEN Re pool.
I was also going to suggest Orleans, its a nice pool area, with hot tub etc,it will be busy as they all will at that time, but you should be able to get a bed and they are not all crammed in. The rates fior the hotel should be good.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYSitting in Seattle airport waiting to board amsterdam flight after 2 nights at the Orleans and 5 at Flamingo.
Hope we get our bags this time when we evebtuallty arrive in Norwich.
They didnt put them on the last leg LA to Vegas on the outbound trip, we even mentioned when pulling off the stand that there were 2 bags left on the trolly by the side of the plane that looked like ours:eek::eek:. We had to wait for the next flight from LA:(.
Had FAB deluxe room booked at Flamingo overlooking pool, asked for an upgrade to aGO room, they refused but gave an "executive" room , on the top floor overlooking the strip. great view , not sure what was executive about it though apart from being a bit bigger, the bathrooms are pretty naff, they refurbed the bedrooms with the "fake" wooden floors but didnt touch the bathroom:(
Had a great time though, My wife won $426 on a slot with her second spin of the trip playing 3 cents a line, $1.50 total bet. She couldnt believe it:T:T. The rest of the trip didnt go so well though as far as gambling goes, although I held my own playing poker.
We used 3 rest.com coupons.
ENVY..highly recommended
Hash House (IP) OMG the size of the portions are TOOOOO big. service is exxcellent and the food good but did I say they are tooooo big!!!
Stripburger, it was our second time there, I was underwhelmed the first time but other folks on here rave about it, so though we would try it again. Guess what we were underwhelmed again, especially when after taking 2 bites of my burger the waiter came over and said you both have the wrong burgers (we hadnt realised at that point) so we will take them away and bring you the right ones, leaving our fries and strings to go cold! He said he would give us 25% off to compensate which i accepted but when the bill came it was only 25% off the burgers and not the whole check (only a couple of cokes and the strings/fries). Didnt bother arguing but wont go back! as for the burgers themselves they are not as good as In N Out (animal style) IMO.
Went to see Jersey Boys..fantastic!!!
Got $10 tickets for Nathan Burton at Flamingo, funny how the free ones are never available unless you go to the box office weeks in advance. having said that we asked to be close to the fron and were seated on the 3rd row, not bad for $10, the show itself was so so but worth $10.
Spent loads on shopping, my wife said she could justify it after winning $426 even though the casino got most if not all of it back!!! Coach bag, Guess bag, Guess shoes to name a few
took a trip to Primm mainly for the hollister outlet, but ended up buying a few hollister clothes in the sale at Town Square which worked out cheaper.
Was impressed with Clavin Klein store at Premium outlet north as I bought a pair of jeans there last august which split after a couple of wears, I took them back without the receipt, they let me swop for another pair no questions asked:):).
Should be boarding soon, Quite impressed that I dont usually do trip report and have now done one before we even leave the USA.0 -

Have a safe trip home and hope your bags make it with you!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

CASINOSGah i've foolishly left it until the last minute to buy my restaurant.com vouchers. I thought there was also a discount code but I guess they don't get released until later in the month. Gonna have to pay $10 for each of my $25 certificates now
EDIT: scrap that, just logged into my restaurant.com account and found I had $110 credit for some reason?! So I just got $25 El Segundo, $25 Hussong's, $25 Harley Davidson, $25 First Food and Bar and $10 Fresh Grill and Bar. Awesome!0 -
First ever visit to LV 1-7 March 2012. Paid £820 each for flights and 7 nights at Vdara.
Thursday
Flew MAN-LV with Virgin. Previously flown to New York with BA, AA & Delta and thought Virgin was far superior. Lovely food and nice snacks (pretzels, Skinny Cow ice creams, hot sos rolls served during films). Bar ran dry 5 hours into the flight but still managed 3 G&Ts!).
Got to hotel (Vdara) via cab for $14. Asked for any comp. upgrades and got a Belligio fountain view on high floor - result. Massive room, spare fridge for our stuff and big bathroom with double shower and free standing tub.
Strolled downn strip as far as Imperial Palace - very loud and busy and wasn't sure if we would enjoy the holiday. Had meal at Dennys and home for 10 shattered.
Friday
Slept till 11am which meant we were on LV time. Visited Aria - lunch in the Sportsbar - nothing great.
Had $3 Coronas at Bills and watched Big Elvis show - really worth seeing and it's free!
Visited Venetian Hotel - my fave.
Visited Ferrari showroom at Wynn - $10 and worth it to see so many amazing cars up close - no photography allowed though.
Happy Hour magaritis at T.I Mexican bar.
Had dinner at Aria cafe - not too bad.
Saturday
Walked to Hard Rock cafe for breakfast - not worth it - too far.
Visited Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood - great place for cheap food options and picking up beers for the room, saw thunderstorm show.
Mac king show in the afternoon - worked out at $13 each including a cocktail - well worth it at this price - get cheap tickets offers from the sales desk at the casino.
Quick gamble at the Bellagio on the slots - made $40 & had some free red vino from the waitress.
Sunday
Breakfast at Miracle Mile cafe - steak n eggs for $5.95 with cheap bloody marys.
Visited Excalibur and Luxor - not fussed. Saw Shark Reef at Mandaley Bay, rode NYNY roller coaster.
Deuce bus to Freemont Street at dusk - fab place, check out the zip wire and light show. Cheap bars. Saw Heart Attack Grill - free to eat if you are ove 25 stone (they weigh you) and you dress in scrubs to eat and are served by nurses (?!).
Monday
Visited GC via tour (forgot name!). Travelled in a 8 seater people carrier with massive reclining captains seats - only 5 of us on the trip. Stopped at Lake Mead - route 66 - Flintstones camping park. 3 hrs at GC on a fabulous sunny day. Tour started at 6.30am and we got back at 7.30pm - cost $230 each - worth every penny.
Tuesday
Really windy weather. Got tickets for Mystere from Tix Booth for $70 each. Visited Paris and Caesers Palace. Both interesting.
Show was amazing with great seats.
Wed
Dueuce to outlet stores - didnt think much to them but I'm not a shopper. Had beers in country & western bar (think in TI) with saddles for bar seats.
Spent late afternoon in Casino Royale drinking frozen margartias and bottles of Michelob at $1 each - off to Bills for karaoke.
Thurs
Visited dolphins at Mirage - really good and entertaining. Last wander around the strip and a beer at the hotel. Taxi back to airport $12 - flight back half empty and uneventful.
Sorry for droning on but maybe some of this will help someone!
Would I go back - yes but it's so far it's not that easy!0 -
CASINOSSounds like a good first time trip! I'm going tomorrow, also staying in the Vdara. It seems like you got a good deal with the taxi, $14 and $12. Did you just ask the driver(s) to take you to Vdara or did you give him specific route instructions? I don't wanna get ripped off!0
