LavenderBees, Just a word of warning, I made the full quantity (serves 4) of lentil & sweet potato pate, but was becoming a bit too fond of eating it so stuck two portions in the freezer.

Yes, I was thinking I'd need to freeze a few portions. Actually, I may not make it today now, as I've just had breakfast (ate lots more bread than intended as it was on the turn...), so am stuffed. Hoping not to want any lunch later...if I don't make it today, then I'll make some next weekend for lunches for when I'm back at w.o.r.k.

No snow here...yet....heavy rain though...I have the fire lit and it's bliss to know I don't have to go out at all

    Evening All,

It's been a busy day at work today and as it was raining when I finished, DH came to collect me so I've hardly had any exercise. I've been good with my eating though. So as long as I don't nibble whilst I bake a dozen scones for my friend's coffee morning I can be quite pleased with myself.

    B: Poached egg on toast.
    L: Prawn salad wrap
D: Poached salmon with creamed spinach, mushrooms, onions and garlic. Fruits of the forest with Greek yoghurt.

Exercise: Walk to work via charity shop and friend's house for coffee so about 1 mile.

Oho! Just made my 2nd loaf of the week....:o

Weather was just grot yesterday, really dreadful, so as expected I didn't leave the house. I didn't have lunch but did have a handful of crisps and fudge .

Have awoken to blue skies, sunshine and strong northerly winds today, so will get out this morning before I start climbing the walls.

Brekkie - 2 slices of parmesan and tomato bread

Lunch - salad when I get back from being out - I have advocado to use up

Dinner - my last lo Sunday roast dinner :o

Exercise - walking round shops, picking things up, then putting them back on shelves :rotfl:

Treats - will try VERY hard not to..

    Happy Wednesday everyone.

Weight Loss Old Style Summer Challenge
New Year Challenge ends Good Friday, please declare your total for the next challenge as soon as you can so I can get the new list up. Summer Challenge starts Friday the 13th, you can declare first loss then or take the Easter week off ;)

For those new to the challenge I will explain...
Challenge runs for 13 weeks (or 14 if you start straight away from Good Friday) from the 13th of April to 13th of July, you may join at any time, just post your target total in bold so I don't miss it. Each Friday post your loss in red and I will update the list accordingly. A :) will be awarded for each pound lost. Please only post whole pounds as I can't do half faces and do keep your own records as I am only human and may miscount or miss entirely!

Please remember when setting your target that it is better to aim slightly lower and have a better chance of reaching/exceeding your target, than to aim high, have a few bad weeks and lose all hope!
Recommended healthy weight loss is between 1/2 and 2lb a week, so suggested targets range from half to 2 stone, depending on how overweight you are and how much you are prepared to cut your food/up your exercise by!

The thread is NOT all about the challenge, that was just a little extra as some of us find it helpful, it is NOT compulsory. If you would rather not do the challenge please continue to post, all tips/advice/recipes are very welcome. If you find any useful info, please share... if you try/invent a new recipe, we would love to hear it... if you have had a rubbish week and want to confess to half a kilo of chocolate cake, feel free, we will understand!

More info is on the first page of the thread, including some useful links. Please have a read through if you haven't already.

    Good luck everyone! :D

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all :)

I'm not going to join the challenge this time, as I'm not trying to lose weight specifically, but to maintain my current weight (although by July I expect I'll be gaining anyway!). I will keep posting my menus though, finding it helpful to keep track of my meals.

Morning sickness has really kicked in this week, came home from work yesterday as was worried about not making it to the loos in time, and without anyone seeing me as it's still a secret! The last 2 days I've only managed to keep down one meal a day, but am perservering with eating little and often and hoping I'm getting enough calories that way!

Working at home today, and probably tomorrow, and then I'm on holiday for 10 days, so will hopefully feel better before I have to go back to work!

    Food today:
Breakfast: rich tea biscuit, 1 slice toast w/ peanut butter
    Snack: Fruit, babybel
    Lunch: fishfinger sandwich, yoghurt
    Snack: fruit, biscuits
Dinner: undecided, will have to see how I feel :o

    Morning All,

Ragz – I will be joining y’all in the summer challenge but my target will be dependent on whether I nail that elusive last pound – scales show this morning that I have lost 8¾ of the 9 I was aiming to lose……aaargh :wall:, but I’m not about to starve myself to get there, may just go and dust off the exercise dvd.

Also going to get the tape measure out – this will be interesting!!

Been rummaging in the dark recesses of the freezer to use up stuff that’s been there for a while, so todays plan =
    B – Fresh fruit salad & yoghurt
L – Baked Onion Bhajis, sauce & salad
D – Spinach & Feta Cannelloni, steamed broccoli
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £42.19

Ragz thanks for keeping us all organised. I'm in again for the summer challenge. I'll weigh myself in time for the start - expecting that I'll be starting from the beginning again since my losses all went back on after my operation.

I'll need to build up exercise, but can't do anything that involves lifting heavy weight or using my stomach muscles - didn't realise stomach muscles were involved in so much

So far I'm trying to get out for regular walks, but if anyone can think of other things I can try I'd love to hear about it.... please:)

Ragz I would like to join the new challenge, I would like to aim for 9 pounds. Thank you.
I am not having a good week so far [as usual for the school holidays], so I won't post my weigh in result this Friday. I will just carry on from now, and hopefully have a good start to the new challenge !

Thanks Ragz I would like to join the challenge. I'm aiming for 12lbs starting on Friday. I've spent the last few days reading through the last challenge and trying out MFP which I love even though it was an eyeopener putting in my everyday eating and exercise but ready for my new regime. Cheers for all the work you put in.
