First time poster here!
Ragz this is a great idea, and thanks for organising. I would like to be involved as I need a motivation boost. I need to lose around 19lbs to get to my target weight of 9stone. I am now 10stone 5lbs.
Out of pure laziness really. My eating is good but having started a new job, my lifestyle has been much more sedentary. My eating is 80% healthy, but sometimes I do go off the wagon!
Planning to join the local gym after the Easter break so I'm definitely up for this challenge! :j0 -
Could I join please? Would like to lose 8lb.
Am trying to follow 1500 calorie daily diet as recommended by British Heart Foundation but am finding it quite expensive (in terms of the types of things I am eating, clearly not the quantities!)
What are people's top tips for keeping costs down- am going through pricey salad ingredients and fish/chicken at a rate of knots. Will have own salad leaves from the garden in a few weeks but not much else...0 -
Afternoon
Ragz please could you put me down for 10lbs to do the Summer Challenge. Those are the extra I was hoping to lose already but slow and steady as they say
DC xx
Edited to add that I am declaring 15lbs for the first part. Started out wanting 14lbs and then moved it to 21 but with illness and lack of motivation since ...I have managed to sts at the 15lb mark0 -

I am at DS's this evening babysitting so am catching up with various bits and pieces. I've tidied the toys and put the bins out for them so am having a much needed sit down now.
B: Poached egg on toast.
L: Prawn salad roll. HM scone and butterPork chop, creamed spinach with mushrooms, garlic and onion. Rice pudding
Exercise: Walking back and forth to various shops, work and to DS's so maybe 2-3 miles in total.

Morning, All
Make the most of whatever weather you have over the next few days as Monday looks grot for most of us!! I'm out walking a little today and tomorrow, and then planning on inside things (curled up under a throw with a good book on Monday!)
I have weighed myself this morning and am declaring a STS week which, given the 40 odd miles I've walked so far, just goes to show how much more I must have been eating/drinking inadvertently because I'm off work. Though honestly, I don't think I have really!
Ah well, today's menu is -
Brekkie - Delicious hotcross bun (yum!)
Lunch - out for lunch so will be whatever looks delish
Dinner - depends what I have for lunch - maybe nothing if I have a proper lunch
Exercise - probably a couple of miles
Treats - not declaring :rotfl:
Happy good Friday, everyone

Unsurprisingly I have gained 2lb , no exercise AT ALL this week and LOTS of eating junk. So I was expecting that. Puts my total loss for New Year challenge at a miserable 3lbs! Rather shocking for 3 months isn't it? I now know I do actually have to try hard ALL the time, not just sporadically. So I am now aiming for 7lbs for the Summer Challenge.
Welcome to the new posters, I have added your targets to my list. Ellarose did you want to join the challenge, if so can you post a target.
Instead of eating bad for the whole Easter holiday I am going to try some damage limitation. I have finished the kitkats that plagues me all week, though I do have two magnums in the freezer, but I will selflessly give one to DH for dessert later so I only have to eat one
I have been having a LOT of bread and I need to bake some more today but I will try to limit myself to bread once a day not twice. Back to the yogurt and tinned fruit for breakfast I think...
ETA - apart from today as it's Good Friday I MUST have a hot cross bun!
Of course, not having my soup for lunches has been a big difference too, must see if there's any lurking in the freezer as I don't really have ingredients to make any...
Dinner will be pork chops and cauliflower cheese, plus extra veg.
Good luck everyone WI for the final dayJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Morning all,
WI today and I have missed my target by ½ lb. So for this final week I’m declaring another STS, I’m not too downhearted as on checking back in my 2011 diary I have lost just over a stone since August, ok compared to some of you that’s not a lot but I’m hoping that coming off slowly its more likely to stay off.
Ragz - For the Summer Challenge I am setting my target again for 9lbs if I achieve this it will take my weight down to 9st 7lbs a weight I can honestly say I haven’t been for about 20years – it may be a bit optimistic but I’m determined to give it my best shot.
There are no choc eggs to eat here and only healthy choices being made over the holiday weekend so I will be carrying on as usual.
Today’s Plan =
B – F&F, smsk milk
L – Chicken salad sandwich
D – Aubergine & Tomato Bake
Good Luck to everyone taking part in the next Challenge and Ragz many thanks for keeping us on the right track and putting the scores on the doors.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
Morning all, I've gained 2lbs, making my total loss for this challenge....2lbs.
I'm thoroughly fed up with myself my weight now, so hopefully that will be the motivation I need to make changes to my eating and weight.
Today:
B: chopped apple and banana with a spoonful of rolled oats and ss. 2x coffee with ss
L: 4 ryvitas and two dry fried eggsbeef stir fry
Snacks: fruit and a tiny amount of nuts
Exercise: a one hour walk.
Have a lovely Good Friday everyone.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Perhaps you've just built up your leg muscles and increased your bone density with the walking? Both would be good healthy results and might be hiding the loss of weight from other stuff. You should be very proud of the exercise :APuts my total loss for New Year challenge at a miserable 3lbs!
Ragz 3lb is still better gone than here - well done. And you should take some credit for all our losses too. Thanks again for all the hard work organising the challenge.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm now 13 stone 4 8lb loss overall for the challenge. Looks like the gain when I came out of hospital must have been bloating after surgery.
Thanks to everyone on the thread for the support and encouragement. However much or little you have lost this time you are all stars for keeping going.:T
For the next challenge I'm aiming to lose 11lbs. This would take me to 12 stone 7 which according to the BBC Health BMI calculator would put me in the normal range for my height :j
Good luck everyone, and keep up the good work0
