Lambs hearts stuffed with mushrooms (reduced to 21p) 3 sticks of celery chopped, 3 small potatos chopped, 1 red onion chopped, 1 tablespoon Bisto powder mixed with cup of water, 1/4 bottle echo falls Rose wine, Johnnys Garlic seasoning.
Was absolutely delicious! Hadn't had hearts since i was a child but will be having them again!0 -
Jacket potatoes were a bit soggy think 8hours on low was too much - crisped them up in the oven but think that defeated the purpose!
Got curry going in today - chicken thighs going in can I just fish them out at the end or should I taken them off the bone first?Living the simple life0 -
Red Cabbage and sausages - yum (hopefully)
This is the least amount of liquid I have put in a recipe yet, so am slightly nervous. Just 4 tbsp water and 2tbsp cider vinegar.
Fingers crossed!!0 -

Easier and tastier if you fish them out at the end. It's a little like the life's too short to peel a mushroom saying!

I am coming in to subscribe. I got a slow cooker for Christmas and am quite excited about trying some of the recipes and not having to cook when I get in, although think I may have to get up earlier when I need to brown food etc. We were going to have a pot roast today as I wanted to try using the sc for the first time when I was off work but didn't have time to get any food yesterday. Might have to try it tomorrow. I am looking forward to trying liver in it, DH loves it but after being force-fed it as a child I don't like it fried but am willing to try it this way.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

Chicken will probably be off the bone by the time you finish cooking them in the SC anyway, so as you are dishing up just whip the bones out of the ladle/spoon as you go from SC to plate.

My curry was lush! Just fished the bones out was so easy, was just a spare onion, some chicken thighs I had to use up a jar of curry paste and a tin of chopped tomatoes! Will definitely make it again the house smelled lovely all day and I have 6 portions to go in the freezer!Living the simple life0
