I am a plusnet customer who over the last view weeks have had trouble sending emails.
i reported this to them through support tickerts and sent them one i could not send with headers.
this was a spam email that i recived and was forwarding ionto the spammers datercenter, twhich the law advises you should do.
Plusnest reponse was that it is me sending spam and using their services as a business and not residential which is a 100% lie

There are two things to separate here:
Firstly, you shouldn't send spam email anywhere as a rule, just delete it. What seems odd is that you receive it - so it comes to you - but then you can't send it. Don't know what Plusnet's spam filtering is like, you'd think it would catch it inbound too. Does it put "SPAM:" in the subject line by any chance?
Secondly, a more general issue with sending emails. Can you elaborate on that - do you have any error messages for the [normal, non spam] ones that you can't send?0 -

not noted as spam and yes i will forward with headers to the spammers ISP/DC
below is the typical message i get when sending mail, these only started about 3 weeks ago and i have not changed any settings etc.
even recreating the email accounts and making sure my email accounts are empty of any thing in my inbox and sent folders as advised still fails. this is not just any spam i try and send to the spammers ISP/DCThis message could not be sent because its size exceeded the server's limit. You can use the option, located in Tools | Accounts | Properties | Advanced, to break messages into smaller parts.

What's this "spammer's databse" of which you speak, and AFAIK there is no law that says you have to forward spam on.0

it is advisable to forward spam along with headers to the spammers ISP/datacenter so that action can be taken against the spammer.
a datacenter is where the server that the spam is sent from is hosted, then can take down the server that the spam is originating from.
but it is not just these that i am unable to send. if only people on these forum learn to read before posting replies0 -
Forwarding spam is pointless and just adds to the volume of carp clogging up the network.
I would have thought that the message is self explanatory-you (or some malware) is/are presumably attaching something to the email that is infected, and beyond the size of the network's email server to handle-the limit is probably around 10MB.
I fail to see why that makes Plusnet 'idiots'?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
So what error do you get for other e-mails that won't send?
below is the message i get when sending a simple live chat transcript to one of my work emails emails. i contained no spam or anything that would be seen as spam.
the errors for all email are the same apart from the subject title. i can copy/paste the whole messages and placed them in my webmail account with plusnet and these are sent no problemThis message could not be sent because its size exceeded the server's limit. it is not just forwared spam. also had no problem until about 3 weeks ago and i have never changed anything0 -
The error code suggests that the e-mail is too large, can you send a simple one liner?
no get the same error
i was told by plusnet to remove the mail accounts in windowns live mail and then set them up again and try then, but still the same error, this is when they changed tack and started saying it is me sending spam which means i am using it as a business and not residential which is 100% false.
if it was just with forwarding the spam reports i could understand, but it is also general email0 -
If you are bulk mailing to multiple addresses then they may detect this and limit your email service-have a look in their email user guide for more info about this-under 'tarpitting'.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

What AV are you using? I suggest you do a full scan for malware before doing anything else.
Does your "Sent' folder show any attachments to the emails that would take them above the server limit?
espresso is correct, why not switch to a reliable webmail service such as Gmail?
If you've been regularly forwarding spam using Plusnet's servers then it's not unlikely that they've detected this and put some sort of block on your email, as you are breaching the T&C's.
