although it says crochet in the title, they look like normal anchor threads. i want to place an AcrossTown order for DMC, but some of the charts i want to do, inc MPowell i think, use anchor. what do people think? (i found them using goofbay searches)
normal anchor threads - they've put wrong title!! (look in "type" says cross stitch)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Some lovely makes everyone.
I am still plodding along with the tiger design that my mum started. I'm finding it hard going at the moment.
I bought a copy of Cross Stitcher this morning from a local market. All magazines were £1 each or 3 for £2.50. It didn't have the free gift but that's fine, I very rarely do the free gifts anyway. It is the July 2011 edition and has a design Julia Rigby design Clamping Grils which I have decided to stitch for my friend for Christmas (we are both Cub Scout leaders and think this is perfect for her). I need to sort my threads as I am off to France at 6am tomorrow and I'm taking this with me.
Some time ago there was a post on here (sorry can't remember who posted it) saying there was a programme available that you could enter your DMC thread numbers and have a list of missing threads that are different from the ones you have. Don't know if this makes sense. I want to put an order into across town before I go away.
If anyone knows where I can access a programme like this I would be very grateful.

Bubbles - I know ive a small chart of a spine in a mag... Any good? It was a requested chart for a similar reason. Might take me a while to find it... I know I didn't list it in my newly created spreadsheet.
The spine chart would be fantastic, thanks so much. I knew if anyone could help me it would be you lovely girls!Bubbles - welcome back, sorry to hear about your friendI'm sure she will apreciate a card and some flowers. You could always stitch some thoughtful words and use that for the card? It could be something she could put in a small memory box perhaps? I stitched a poem when something similar happened to us but it was too painful to have it on display.
Or...could you make her a memory box and put a stitched message on top of that?
Thanks for everyone who replied about my friend. Its hard to know what to do because different people react different ways. I have sent her some flowers, chocolates and a card and I keep texting her every single day just incase she wants to talk but have told her i wont be offended if she doesnt feel up to replying. I like the memory box idea and might wait a couple of weeks and do that so it isnt so raw.
Anyway on a lighter note you have all made some lovely things lately, I love Louises current project, the colours are lovely. I have just finished some stitching I did for my nieces 18th, I did one of the cards from 3d cross stitch, it was beautiful and she loves it but I changed all of the colours so it matched her personality more but I couldnt get a photo to show it properly.
And I made this picture from i think cross stitch crazy but I changed the words and all of the colours again and added music notes as she loves music. And I finally after 25 years of stitching I mastered french knots!
Im going to try and be more active here from now on, promise. I miss you all too much!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

:D
Have a lovely few days with your parents Dorastar - pleased to hear you're not leaving your stitching behindYour friend and her family will be thrilled with their new arrival. Bet you can't wait for a cuddle
Thanks for your comments shelly. Well done your car boot earnings - it was certainly worth it for you. Hope you have a lovely evening and Happy Birthday for your hubby when it arrives - 40 eh - those were the days - in the far and distant past or as my lovely ds puts it 'dark ages'.
Val's card looks lovely 23rd and I'm sure she will love it. Bet she doesn't even notice the things you have pointed out - I hadn't anyway. I noticed those threads on goofbay too but knowing my luck I still wouldn't have the right ones.
Sorry chicky - don't do facebook but I look forward to hearing your update later. Can't help thinking you seemed a little 'stressed'.
Good bargains with the mags Aislb and they sound quite recent too. Enjoy your trip to France
Love your shoe and heart Bubbles - they are both really gorgeous.:D
My sil called today and spotted the newly framed MP in my dining room and was busy admiring it with my neice - meanwhile I was thinking - she has a milestone birthday coming up in a couple of months - would a MP design make a nice 50th pressie - what do you think girls? My neice loved the wonky walls of the cottage
Very little stitching done today - might get it out in a while - but sadly its still white on white.
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday mondaySPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

stressed.... just a tinyyyyy understatment
So toddlerwiggle has been in terrible 2 land all day - have lost count of how many time outs he's had.
tinywiggle has been in screamy land/ refusing to eat (but a quick feel of the gums and yes thats most defo a tooth poking thro so a quick dose of medicine soon put a stop to that (for a couple of minutes)
Anyways this morning he was happily laid on the floor playing with a nappy bag in each hand .... it was tres cute so I took a little video and uploaded it to my facebook page.
Then I get:"Be careful, - a number of babies have suffocated on nappy sacks - and it might be better to get the message through to him about not playing with plastic bags as soon as possible!" (my auntie)it isnt safe for babies / children to play with plastic bags. If for some strange reason I thought it was OK, for [my son - 3 years old] to play with plastic bags, I wouldnt post it on facebook, as really it isnt safe. Here is a video link regarding understanding the dangers of platic bags. (my friend)
They have since apologised that they didn't mean it to come out like that. but i am soooo :mad::mad:
And now DH has gone to the pub leaving me to do bedtime, thank fully **touch wood** they have both gone to sleeep - have put them both in the same room tonight for the first time.
right time to update my diary then I just may get round to actually doing some stitching.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I have had a quiet couple of days and I am very
that its a bank holiday tomorrow although I don't expect I shall lay in too late....
Cross Stitch Card Shop dropped through my door yesterday and I have spent the weekend so far stitching the free kit that came with it. Its coming along nicely although I am amazed that the magazine gives a time estimate of 2 - 3 hours ! I have spent all weekend on it and it still isn't finished although thats not every waking moment of the last two days of course but there are lots of colour changes and I think they have supplied just enough thread so I am going careful. I'm tempted to perhaps put a bit of sparkly thread in the design but I'll decide on that when its all but finished.
OH is watching grand prix so I'm doing a bit of stitching and catching up on here.
hugs all and happy bank holiday :j0 -
changed my mind on christmas AGAIN! (lol) thought I'd give this card making malarky a go given that I have naff all time to stitch at the moment.
