Dude gutted sorry to hear that. I wish you well with the appeal

Don't think I'll bother trying with FD for a good few years yet then; if you can't get it with your impeccable credit file they certainly won't be touching me with a bargepole whilst the discharged BR is still on my credit file.

Oh on a potentially amusing note; Lloyds TSB have frozen my account. I was... "rather seasoned" last night and my friend pressed #500 (typed it in rather) in the cash point. Had it available; wish I didn't... #480 more than I'd ever taken out in one transaction in my life; they suspect fraud.

    Oops.

Need to go in later with ID (and booze breath) and say it was me; here's the cash...

Still have #480 of it left though it didn't all go behind the bar :p

Don't want another argument but can't see first direct turning a customer down with a impeccable credit file,i am not disputing Elky has not got a good credit file, but to be honest their must be a reason why she failed their credit score for their account.

Elky you say no missed or late payments or defaults have you many searches on your report, their must be something on your report for they don't like for the reason for a decline.

By the way this is a normal question not me trying to act clever.

Sometimes you can have a very well managed credit file and still get declined for specific products....very often it is more to do with profiling....or that the profit that they would make from that customer would not justify for them to open an account

I can't understand why they would decline, I'm not wanting any credit from them, I never even applied for their credit card during the application (which is unusual for me). You spent £20 on a night out??! Christ, how did you manage that?

    Elky is a male. :p

It may not be my credit report at all. My credit report may infact be perfect for what they want to see... it could be because I'm a student, or perhaps because my income isn't £100k per annum. A whole host of factors outwith my credit report may have influenced the decline decision. It might even be something as simple as my E/R data not showing on my file even though I am registered to vote (I'm working on sorting this..).

Yes totally agree what your saying,i think the reason i say about first direct as i've said in other threads a couple of mates have first direct accounts with a normal wage going in so can't see no profit from any of them TBH.

Counted my pennies, was 17.50 in the end.

Night started at a friends flat; fiver for a bottle of wine.

Then another three bottles at the pub; one of which my flatmate bought.

So basically him and I had two bottles of wine each; no shots or other drinks or snacks / burger / etc...

My nights out seem to run into the 100's. I set aside £170 for tomorrow nights halloween party. It sounds like a lot of money and I very rarely go out drinking but when I do, I usually go a little wild.

Hi, haven't been on for a while, been busy and no real changes to anything, besides Sygma upped my credit limit to £1750 from £1300. I did it on the internet, infact, i was a little early in doing it, about 4 or 5 days, but they still increased it.

Anyway, I rang up lloyds today, to see if I had a CPD marker. I thought I'd check, anyway, there seems to be one there. I asked the adviser if there was one there and he said "Well I can't say, really, but have you had problems with credit in the pass?" So i concluded from that telephone call that there was, she went on to try and sell me this ID aware, thing. Profit out of doom for them!!

iZools etc what do you think?
