I thought he said he had something like a vectra previously.
  • Strider I've watched a few of those videos and I think your driving leaves a lot to be desired. Your road positioning and planning is often quite poor, you seem constantly surprised by the actions of others, yet any observant driver would take those actions in their stride.

May I suggest you take an IAM course, or perhaps a ROSPA course? You need one or the other.

It seems to me that the OP goes out of is way to try and show up what other drivers are doing rather than concentrating on his own driving, which leaves a lot to be desired.

Careful Pew Pew, I suggested this in another thread, and it seems that the IAM and ROSPA are not good enough for "Professional drivers".

However if there was a suitable gap, then it is actually illegal to accelerate/undertake to "close the gap" and prevent someone merging, but not illegal if you were at no point behind them... Complex issue though!

You have no right of way to merge left. You should not force another driver to brake and if they don't brake then it is not safe to merge.

A driver in the left hand lane has every right to hold his speed and close a gap if he wants to.....It's his lane and he can do what he wants. You on the other hand are "asking for permission" to enter their lane, they can choose to allow you in or you can wait until a safe gap appears "wait" as in "become stationary".

If it came to a blow it would be your fault every time. Because you have changed lane and forced a collision.

Im on the outside, not the inside..... Overtaking on the inside (left hand lane) is illegal.

No it's not, Only on motorways is it illegal to pass on the inside.

I suggest you read the highway code before making foolish comments....

Accelerating to prevent someone overtaking is not only illegal, but highly dangerous.

If it means running you into a ditch or hitting an oncoming innocent driver, i'd put you in the ditch every single time AND with my in car camera you'd be screwed with both the Police and the insurance company.

Even my "fan club" would admit they hate people who turn a safe, legal overtaking manoeuvre into a dangerous situation by driving with their EGO instead of their brains!

That particular clip is a pretty good example of how an advanced driver approaches and goes around a roundabout such as this.Nothing wrong in that clip other than the black car not checking their mirrors and cutting into striders lane.

I would agree with that. In that clip, it was the other guys fault, quite a rare event judging by striders other clips.

You don't have to accelerate, you can just refuse to decelerate, in that clip you do not have right of way, you have to merge when it is safe and not before. Keep your camera rolling, in an insurance claim against the lorry I have no doubt it would be your fault.

The main problem is you believe you can do no wrong, and so think the camera will always exonerate you. The next problem is the camera doesn't lie, and in most of the videos shows you performing a dangerous maneuver.
You don’t solely overtake the lorry, you try to overtake the white van in front, mess it up badly, and by the time you decide to give up on it, the lorry hasn’t braked fast enough to let you back in. You now try to blame him as you don’t realize he’s there, and have to swerve back out. Maybe it would be nice of him, but he doesn’t have to make up for your mistakes in not reading the road. It’s not the lightest of vehicles, maybe you need to appreciate the braking abilities of them, and realize they’re not the same as a car.
Again in this, you assume eveyone will do as you dictate.
You will now run people into ditches. What if they don't want to go, and steer back out?
As to the island, yes the other driver changes lanes, the sad bit is you’re not expecting it, and seem very surprised. You need to realize that many drivers will do it, and not place yourself in their way, unless you really want to have the satisfaction of having another accident on video, and finally being able to prove yourself right at last.
