Vintagepleasure, I owe you a huge apology. I hadn't realized when I mentioned the patchwork wall, that it was on your blog that I saw it. I took a longer look at your blog today, and it is a fabulous place to be. Thank you for posting so many inspirational pictures. I'll let you know if we achieve a wall for my daughter's room, but I can't imagine it will look anything like what you have done.
May I ask what the book you've shown the pic of the whole wall is?0 -
sorry, made a mistake -0

Don't you just love Freecycle! Just managed to bag a semi circular Lloyd Loom Basket with lid, it needs recovering but will be great for the bathroom for towels that are used
I just need to pull my finger out and get started on these projects!0 -
Hope this works!
It didn't!!0 -
well my the top part of my kitchen ( where i cook etc) is coming on nicely... the paint on the cupboard doors are taking longer to dry than i thought..
so hopefully by the weekend i will be able to show you some pics..
first of all i really do need to thank triage999 for starting this thread.. as to be honest i really did need a boot up the backside.. or shall i say the inspiration to get going.... i know i have read other posts etc.. but this one really did hit a nerve..
as i mentioned in an earlier post i never really liked this house... and also living in an all male enviorment which normally sit on their back sides not taking dishes out or just plonking their things anywhere.. had just driven me to be like them to be honest.
so i have taken photos of before and going to take photos of after.... i am going to be brave and show you the before photo too.... which prob most of you might find disturbing... ideal situation for those 2 cleaning ladies.... ? and aggie....
i have now decided to do this this all my rooms..( take before and after photos) as i think i have become mess blind..or got soo used to the mess being there and you get used to it, so dont notice it...
or maybe i was soo rapped up in the amount of money that we owed.. i would just sit there and make myself depressed about the debt....
what ever the reason... all your photos of yuor lovely kitchens and other rooms in your houses have made me do my house...Work to live= not live to work0 -
For those that were interested in Crown Soft White.... it is a trade colour and if you contact Crown through their website they will tell you the nearest place to you that stocks it.

I can completely relate to that!!!! I wouldn't dare post pics of my house on here as I would be far too embarassed!!!!
I have ignored the problem for so long..... today I am starting a major declutter and doing a tip run (also gives me the excuse to see what they have up there lol). I'm planning on doing a carboot and take some things to the charity shop. There now I've put it into writing I have to sort it out lol
off I go for a busy day..... :rotfl:0 -
I have been "collecting" all the shabby chic links that have been posted on this thread and adding them to my bookmarks (along with some others I've discovered). So I thought it would be useful to list them here in a sort of "mega index".

i am totally embaressed to be honest, but i think i need that embaressment to make me do more if that makes sense ...
we are not the type of family who have guests round anyway, so i think because of that we have got used to our own mess, with no one seeing it...'hidden behind closed doors' so to speak...
plus now even though we still owe a lot of money... things are getting a lot more manageable... so we can 'breath' again so to speak..so i am a little bit happier in myself..
back on topic...... my kitchen is not totally shabby chic... its going to be a cross between chic.. cottage...kitch.... lol....but even though it is not shabby chic... the thread has inspired me...lol...:TWork to live= not live to work0
