  • the website now says "If you find a lower publicly available rate for the same hotel accommodation and date on another web site, we'll match the lower rate!" - does this mean they are no longer offering a free room?

    Correct.

Ramada Jarvis (who run the UK hotels) now only match the lower rate, as you have already discovered. Ramada International still have the 'First Night Free' rate guarantee but it now only applies to hotels in the USA and Canada.

  • Am I right in thinking that Days Inn still do the free UK rooms? Do any other members of the Wyndham Group have the offer as I notice they have logos of a few other chains on their site and assumed they were related

  • I'm not half struggling to find a cheaper deal without breakfast for the days inn birmingham on 1st December, any tips anyone? I have tried to do it with breakfast from hotelpronto but they rejected it

I've looked everywhere to find the Birmingham one cheaper, I really could do with a room there myself for the 15th. :D

However, Laterooms have the Warwick one cheaper than their site for the next night. I submitted a claim and got an immediate no from them, so I sent a screenshot. Since then they have steadfastly refused to answer my emails despite me having read receipts, so I know they arrived. Anyone else had this problem? I am tempted just to cancel and book with someone else, they obviously don't want to honour their guarantee.
  • Random, definitely took some time with Ramada so no doubt will be similar with Days Inn... suspect they will agree it after they contacted the website where you found it cheaper and get them to put price up so no one else can benefit

I first emailed them on the 31st, then again on the 1st to check the screenshot arrived, and again on the second to ask if my emails were getting to them! :D Think I'll leave them alone for now, if it usually takes a while. No sign of the price changing on Laterooms yet though?

Annoying thing is, I'm dithering about whether to stay that night or just drive home, I may end up cancelling the room anyway! :rolleyes2

Hehe, either they are reading this, or I'm just too impatient! Just got my notification of a free room :D
  • I am due to use my free room tonight. Only thing is that I have lost the credit card that i booked with- will this be a problem? Although I dont have to pay anything I dont know if its required
