Welcome Lauranurse great to have you on board. Have to say the people on this thread are some of the kindest and most supportive (and at times a little naughty ...
) people you could wish to meet.

So - I'm moving house next week (trying v.hard to whittle down the contents of my kitchen). So I made a v.careful shopping list for this week - just the necessities and placed an online order. Then decided yesterday that I would od the shopping intore instead and cancel my online order.
I think you can guess what I'm about to say:rolleyes:
I went and b***** forgot to cancel the online order and mr T turns up this morning with my shopping!!! It's like groundhog day.
My cupboards are overflowing!
So ... if anyone in east Berkshire is peckish ...
Ooops!!!!!! Um is there anyone nearby that could store it whilst you move or are you moving too far to do that?

I think I'll just take back the most bulky stuff (I'm so) like 2 x economy packs nappies and 2 x 4pk beans ... oh and the 16 kitchen towel rolls!!

welcome lauranurse :j :j :j you will be fine on this thread:D
suggs been looking at your photos, was thinking of maybe taking some of me as have lost a bit of the old dedication to the weight loss cause:rotfl: does it boost you on to carry on? Is it a good idea? Obviously you did it so you will say it is a good idea:rotfl: :rotfl: I am just trying to find something that will motivate me forwards as I said it has not crashed totally but it is harder (maybe because I ate lots for my b yesterday and today feeling empty and hungry)0 -
Went to nurse this morning for well woman check up!
I wanted to make sure I was ok as I'm starting to get depressed about weight now and am worrying about long term health. She said I was overweight!! as if I didn't know that!!! and that my BP (lower one) was a little high. We have agreed to do a glucose and cholestoral check in a week or so and she is going to moniter my weight and BP on a monthly basis.
I'm glad I went as it has made me realise that I do have a huge weight problem and I really need to do something about it for good.
On a lighter note! I don't have a pedometer so I went on to RAC route finder to see how many miles I am cycling at the moment and was suprised to find that yesterday I had cycled 2.5 miles and I will have done 4.2 miles by the end of today with a 1/2 hour walk on top. Does anyone know how far you can travel in 1/2 hour by walking at a steady pace??
I feel I am doing everything I can now and simply need to stay focussed and on track (easier said than done with my track record!!) But I am more than ready to give it a go.
I love the idea of Ajax's mini targets so I have devised my own.
1. 5lbs to get under current stone
2. 7lbs to 1st half stone
3. 14lbs to 1st stone
4. 19lbs to get under next stone
5. 25lbs to lose 10%
When I reach step 5 I will re-evaluate and do another.
Thanks for being here guys0 -
As promised yesterday for tiredy and everyone else really:
Spinach and Sweet Potato Curry
300ml vegetable stock
750g sweet potatoes, peeled and diced 2cm
1 chopped onion
225g fresh spinach leaves (I generally use a tin of spinach as I preferred tinned spinach and there's about 4 times as much lol)
3 sliced red chillis
2 thinly sliced garlic cloves
1 tablespoon hot curry powder
1 tin chopped tomatoes (free)
Put the stock in a big saucepan and add the sweet potatoes and onions. Bring to the boil and then simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the spinach, garlic, tomatoes, chili and curry powder and cook well over a medium heat for 10 minutes. Check the potatoes are tender, if not then cook for another couple of minutes.
Done.

... it's reckoned average human walking pace is about 3 mph.
EDIT - typo alert. The above used to read 4, but is meant to read three and was always meant to read three.
Thanks Suggs for making me look at my post again.0
