    000200D6.gif All!
Had a really bad day yesterday, after 3 weeks of doing really well, I am sooo disappointed. This normally happens to me when I start a diet I do well for a week or so, then falter and revert back to old habits. I woke up this morning so fed up with yesterday that I just haven't got the motivation to do my exercise dvd! I feel so fat today too, I am going to try and keep busy today as I have a cold and ache all over and I know if I sit and feel sorry for myself I will eat!
    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am falling into the evil hands of fat and calories!!

..... don't let things grind you down aussies, you're doing what you're doing for a reason. If you let the cold be a reason/excuse this time then you will do it everytime... colds can last a long time, and they love to undo all your hard work. "Feed a cold...." but only with things that follow your particular plan. Best not to do the fitness DVDs though like you say.

    Happy recoveries x

    It's the mutual appreciation society!

Wedding WAS 5 years ago (in June) and was the last time I successfully lost a significant amount of weight (and was quite slim, even if I do say so myself). DD was born in November 2005 weighing 8 lbs and I like to visualise how many baby DDs I have lost (as the weeks have gone on) - it makes you really see what you have achieved - like when Oprah wheeled on a cart full of lard all those years ago. 1lb of sugar is not light - and it is easy to forget that when you lose 'only a lb' or whatever - we are all doing very very well indeed.

    aha, now I understand :)

You are right about the odd 1lb or 2lb. I know SW consultants have a piece of 2lb latex that is designed to be the same shape and look as 2lb of fat. Anyone know if WW bods use a similar visual? It really is a great mind trainer when someone loses "only a lb"
  • day one aussiebird, day one! You can do it. Remember how good it felt when you lost weight. There's nothing to stop you sitting and eating yourself silly, just pick your foods carefully - that is the entire reason I do SW because I am a terrible binge eater and can still do it.

Thanks for the suggestions on the costume guys. I did think about carry on henry but the party is at a medieval event and it's kind of an unwritten rule that you don't do medieval in the evening too. Cleo sounds fun - I shall google off and find some pics and see about investing in some liquid eyeliner.

LOL Ajax, Nigella is, without a doubt, !!!!!!. And not a number two in sight . . . . . OH has a picture of her taped to the wall over his computer. She is fairly high on the joint free list. She was interviewed on Steve Wright yesterday and apparently her husband thinks a bowl of weetabix is better than anything she can make.

h Delly, I have a 0.2kg gain to report. Not entirely unexpected and I promise to be a better girl for the rest of the week. ROFLing at the tomatoes poster too, genius.
  • Aussiebird ... sorry to hear you're not having a good start to the day. I can completely relate to how you are feeling.

Just a suggestion. Sometimes when completely 'stuck in a rut' - rather than trying to 'get back out' it can be beneficial to just do something completely different. Dont know if this makes sense ...

Basically - whatever you'd normally do - go off and do something completely different. As I don't know you well enough to give very specific advice it's hard to explain. But say you'd normall prepare a calorie controlled mid morning snack and lunch at home ... put together a packed lunch, go shopping ot take your mind off things (window shopping of course) and find a nice spot in a park or something to have your lunch or call up a friend to go for a (skinny) coffee.

does anyone else get what I'm saying???? Sorry If I havent explained myself well enough.

.....joint free list? What's this? If a bowl of weetabix is better than that bread/butter puddingy thing Nigella made last night then her hubby must have stones for taste buds. I almost ate the TV, you could tell it was gorgeous (like its creator).

You'll soon pull your gain back, tis only a minor setback x

Apologies to ya delly for blatantly copying your Bettina in Carry On Henry idea. Tears were still rolling down my eyes from hubby's poster, must have missed your post. x
  • Doesn't everyone have a free list? People you're allowed to fancy without repercussion and that if you got the opportunity, you could? Obviously it only works with famous and unavailable (and sometimes fictional) people. The day he adds my best friend to it he's history. But yes, Nigella is on both of our lists, as is Angelina Jolie. I do have girls on mine but he doesn't have boys on his because that would be wrong. I think he does have Jessica Rabbit though. Do we need counselling do you think?

And just for you Ajax, a link I spotted at the Nigella forum . . .hope it works!

But splitting it out like this gives you mini-targets which is great and makes it look more achievable. Plus you have the 5lb challenge for september, and I am sure you could through a few more targets in the there.
