  • Why would she get any mobility? I know that high mobility and low care is£260 per month. Even with tax credits I don't see how this can be £600.
Sorry i'm not trying to fuel the fire here but just still confused

Why on earth would the OP be on high rate mobility? She can run up the stairs?
I just can't understand where the £600 per month comes from

    Sorry, just still confused.

She will be saying she needs "supervision" due to her blackouts - of course we all know this is not true as she drives (some £400 miles per week) on her own etc etc! If she gets the midlle care (as she says) she will qualify for the lower rate mobility also. Tosh !

Middle rate care. lower rate mobility, plus disability premiun on tax credits (Miss K states her tax credits alone are £100 per week) ..add to this the...takes deep breath....£800 a month she will now get in direct payments for the au pair ... you can see why its worth fainting in a shopping centre a few times a year!

  • Found this quote from Miss K in July 2006 ....

"After sifting through 96 applications, I've found the perfect au pair. She's from Australia, she has over 5 glowing references, we share the same interests like the theatre, Shakespeare, literature, cooking.... she is very happy with the hours I have given her and I think this is the best idea I've ever had. She only wants £150 a month pocket money (I've said I'll take her to Ireland, Stratford RSC and London- the places she really wants to visit which I'll pay for as a bonus)

Lynz- I appreciate your caution and you're right there shouldn't be a high turnover of au pairs, so I've contracted this one for 12 months. I try to put myself in an au pairs position, and if it were me I'd want to work hard for a family that are nice and treat me well. It is now concluded that Oli will go to nursery Monday and Thursday, and Shea will look after him Tue, Wed and Friday until lunchtime, plus one night babysitting and 1-2 hours LIGHT housework (hoovering, prep food) a week. It works out 25-28 hours a week I think. She will get all weekend to herself plus two days during the week, and my neighbour has offered to give her £20 a week extra money if she'd like to do some ironing/housework for a few hours per week. Do you think this sounds fair?

She won't have to cook meals as a general rule, but have said occassionally (when I'm very tired, at exam time, when I have Board meetings in London) I may ask her to fix a bit of tea, which she has said she enjoys doing and would be very happy to do!

And English is her first language, which is always a great help!!!"

mmmmmmmmm..........no mention of the fact that she needed the au pair for supervision.......but then she did not know about direct payments then !!!
Also...every day is taken up with nursery or au pair - what time does Miss K spend with her child??? He goes to his dads from Friday afternoon all weekend !!!!

People seriously get DLA for fainting a handful of times in a year?

I do from time to time if i am standing for a long period (like on a train) but would never have considered this a danger to my child. Doctor told me to wiggle me toes when standing LoL.

Doors are locked in my house, and it is child proof. It is something i have never worried about. Should i feel guilty?

I know sevaeral people who faint have fits and not one of them get DLA my mum got high rate DLA as shes registered blind and a person i know get high rate DLA because her knees give way and her daughter gets it because shes got ADHD more than £600 a month for them both which i think is unfair as several children have got ADHD and cant get it and several people are worse off than this woman and cant get DLA but i suppose its how bad you make it sound to SS

Dont feel guilty! Miss K has manipulated the situation ...she has admitted that all you need to do is "faint" in a busy shopping centre a few times so an ambulance is called ..she has admitted that all you have to do is keep going to the Drs with symptons..she has even falsified tests by running up and down stairs to get her heart racing! Its a disgrace (sorry Lillibet:o )

She obviously doesn't feel at all guilty that if she did call an ambulance during a fake "Faint" that there will most probably be someone who is critically ill and a genuine emergency that has to wait for upto 2 hours for a ambulance:mad:
