I was approved for the silver with Barclaycard at 90% of limit and approved of MyWorld with Barclaycard and Silver at ~80% of limit.

You may be right but that is most definitely a change for Sygma as it didn't used to be an issue.

Hey ho. Six month DFD :D

And £3400 isn't much available credit for a £21,500 salary (yeah, gone full time now. Woot!)

  • Ahh you're right matey. Affordability isn't the problem, IMO it's the exposure with high balances.

Makes sence though doesn't it? I appreciate what ur saying about the extra cards u got but ur exposure was lower then. To anyone searching you it looks like 2 new cards both maxed out so soon.

Not criticism - far from it. Just think cos it's too close to home you're missing the obvious lol.

Without your overdraft see you only have £685 available.
As for credit cards go that is not a lot of available TBH.

    Yeah you're both absolutely right!

I wouldn't dream of applying elsewhere with so little available (even if my Experian file wasn't shot to pieces with all sorts of other nasties), I figured it was worth a bash with Sygma again as they've not minded the little available in the past.

Hey ho. Don't need it anyway. DFD, here we come :D Standing orders all in place to snowball this years splurging into non existence

Blimey! Sygma have really tightened up!

I Have had my Silver card for over six months and My World for over three months now, and am down to two searches on EQ.

Got a copy of my EQ file, perfect. I couldn't resist. One search couldn't hurt right? Well it was bloody pointless. Straight decline for Flybe.

I'm very surprised TBH. I would have expected a refer worse case scenario given my low debt (for income) and unblemished credit history (on Equifax, that is).

Never mind, didn't really need it ayway. Called them up and they confirm they've raised the bar in terms of credit scoring :o Boo!!!

EDIT: TBH I'm glad they said no - I could do without having another new account on my credit file and there's no need for another card anyway. I should be holding off until LTSB offer me a new card and that won't happen if I keep taking them out elsewhere...

Creation also told me that different cards have different pass marks - perhaps Flybe is one of their strictest ones?

  • a ccj from 2007 would go unnoticed if the rest of your file was clean, i.e. 3yrs of nothing/payments on time etc....

    well done by the way

Well clearly there is for me to get an instant decline after two instant approvals with equally bad debt to limit ratios!

I just spoke to the underwriters and they confirmed that they are being more picky with their customers now and told me not to reapply for 3-6 months where before they said after a month or two.

Ah well, there you go. Sensible decision for them to make, really.
