    Hmmm

No, I wouldn't say it was that much cheaper. There is quite alot of emphasis on local procurement as well in some areas which can impact on prices.

I can get averages on some ingredients if that's any help, but will need to scale them to pro rata the catering sizes :)

Also can you change the veggie burgers planner 2 to show that the parsnips are the ready roasted Asda version and can you give an oven temp for cooking them and approx length of time. Maybe give an approx time to cook the burgers for mentioning to turn them after x mins?

Ps thanks to all for suggestions for tonight.xx

Is this what you were talking about?

hey, I think if they need to be cooked in a pan you could ask Kitty when she is chopping her onions to take a few thin slices and lay them in the bottom of the tin and pop it into the oven whilst it is warming up, then you will have a pretty pattern but only on the top, where it matters I guess. Hope that makes sense!

    well this is astounding.

I'm blown away by your figures above.:o

please do say if you're not able to answer these questions online, but this is mindblowing!

Do you happen to know what health parameters each meal is meant to meet ie must they provide x of the 5 a day, or x amount of calcium, or is there no health mandate currently?

I really hope you don't mind me picking your brains, do say to butt out if you like :)

If it isn't too much faff then prorata prices for the ingredients for the calzone and the carrot loaf, both vegan planner (approx 8 diff ingredients) would be superb, but don't worry at all if it's a faff. (but I would be very willing to go onto the suppliers website and work it out myself...)

Certainly in primary schools there is a requirement to meet nutritional standards, most providers employ a nutritionist, and use software to meal plan to the requirement. I don't know what the standards are, but there are a few people I could probably ask.
Our surveys have found that this planning has limitations as children come in many sizes with different activity levels and they tend to chose school dinners only on the days when they like what's on the menu, so the weekly plan goes askew!
Secondary schools are more likely to be autonomous, controlling their own meals provision and cash cafeterias mean that there is little regulation over what children eat.

I will have a look at the costings for you, am back home and away from the data now tho'.

thank you so much wyebird :)

what's the uptake on school meals and what percentage are getting them because their families are in receipt of wtc?
