    Evening all :D

The big cheesy grin is because I've lost 2 pounds this week! :D Apologies for blowing my own trumpet, but it has been a loooong time since I lost as much as that so I'm very pleased, as you can imagine, particularly as I had a day off on Saturday.

The amusing thing is, there are FOUR slimmers of the week this week (including me :D) so well done to Eels, Suggs, and Me4Bargains :T

The chart follows - as usual, let me know if I've missed anyone, or got anything wrong.

OOps, strikes me that AlyssaMae has nicked the top spot ;)

Anyway congratulations to all the losers, you all deserve a big pat on the back :T

Welcome to fatfreemummy. I struggled on WW too, but I find SW much easier - more to eat and not so restrictive (my opinion only!)

Many thanks to Eels and Honey for the recipes - I shall try them both during the week. I love soup at this time of year, and to have one filling enough not to need bread is a blessing.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • where can I find the soup recipies for s/w. I'm getting a bit fed up with jacket potatoes and cheese. I'm off to the theatre tonight to see the producers. I'm going to do a pasta bake before I go to feed the family but have mine early. and take a diet coke with me. I never normally eat when I go to the theatre cos the icecream is extortionately priced I refuse to have one anyway.

    Well done all you losers.

If you go to the very first post of the thread (about 100 pages ago I think), you'll find a link to the recipe section.
I'd put the link in for you, but, sadly, I'm a bit thick and can't do it :o

and lighter news, I am looking at the 3rd November as the day I have minor knee surgery  clean up the damaged cartilage, as long as I get pass the pre-op assesment! So no driving for a few days, no heavy training for a fortnight, might have to look at maintianing my weight then.

  • I have tried soooooo many different diets over the past 20 years - Slimming World, WeightWatchers, Uni-Slim, Easi-Slim, Cambridge, SlimFast, Atkins, Calorie counting, Fat Units, chemical breakdown... I did manage to lose with WeightWatchers, but 7lbs in 7 months is NOT great weightloss!

I stick rigidly to EVERY diet I try and persevere for months at a time, but get disheartened when I start to gain weight when all around me are losing.

I have never been majorly overweight, maybe one to two stone, but have always longed to be a more healthy weight.

I had never before heard of the SCARSDALE MEDICAL DIET, but my Mum had seen a documentary about diets and told me about it. I tried it to see if it would help. I lost a stone within one month!!! My weightloss has slowed down, I have lost 1 stone 9 lbs in total since June 29th and only have 3lbs to go.

The diet is very healthy and was put together by a doctor who treated heart patients.

For the first two weeks you eat exactly what you're told (quite restrictive at first, but soon get in the way) then the following two weeks it's slightly more relaxed and less restrictive. The idea of the 'two on - two off' is to lose weight in the first fortnight and to 'lock in' the weightloss in the following fortnight. This carries on until you get to goal.

At the outset you lose around 1lb a day, but obviously this does slow down. It's the best diet I've ever been on. The food is healthy and nutritious and I don't ever feel hungry.

But the weightloss is the best part. I really couldn't believe, after the struggles I'd had previously, just how easy it was to lose the weight.

:j Hope some of you can enjoy the same success I have. :j

Mmm, :D Ok, you lost the weight, and well done on doing so, but can you keep it off like the rest of us can? Rather than follow a "crash course" diet we are changing our eating habits for life, thus hopefully (and it has been proven) being able to keep the weight off long term. Can you boast this?

Suggs good luck with the op, DH is having what sounds like a similar one a few weeks after you. I cant wait  I get to be his personal servant as well as the kids
