Well, last year I said to OH that he better buy me something romantic this year - or else.
So his great romantic gift to me is....
A Leicester Tigers shirt.
However he's sulking cos I'm insisting I have to have 'Ellis 9' (my favourite player's name and squad number
) on the back of it
So I got my own back

This year he has a Leicester Tigers training top (£13 -) and a Roy Orbison CD (very MSE - £1 from Tesco!!!) and a card. Not forgetting though the trip to London we're going on Valentine's weekend - train tickets £36 return and 2 nights in a Travelodge - £140 (we were supposed to be staying in the MayFair hotel but Im skint and gutted I cant afford it
)
Next year is his 40th so I'm planning a better time next year... hoping I can afford it!!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
This year I'm getting OH strawberries, melted choc and some sort of booze (probably a bottle of Newcy Brown for him!
) for breakfast, and paying for us to go for a meal in the evening. I also bought him a jar at Christmas and filled it up with sweets, so I'm going to fill it up again with love themed sweeties. I plan on doing the same thing for every possible occassion in the future :rotfl:
I'm hoping for a bunch of tulips from him
On a different note, I was at work the other day, and a few people were setting up a valentines gift type stand with candles, vases, artificial flowers etc on it. As I went over, they asked me 'would you be offended if your boyfriend bought you any of this for Valentines Day?' I said no, why would I? They started saying they'd be really annoyed if their boyfriends bought them any of that crap (I work in B&M, so not exactly amazing stuff, but still...) Does anyone else think like that? I wouldn't be bothered, but then again I like little decorative stuff, and to me it's not about how much money has been spent. Plus I buy quite a lot of stuff from there which I like, so why would it bother me to be given it as a gift?

My sister told me that she is getting her fella a driving experience from Brands Hatch this year. She has managed to find £20 off the regular price at the moment. Getting to drive a BMW and single seater car is a pretty different way to spend Valentines! If he likes his cars as much as me he will love it!0

This year I've managed to make lots of things myself at home because my husband has been working away in China (coming back on Valentine's Day).
This is them:
They are all on individual posts on my blog but we have:
The 'don't forget I love you' tin HERE
The record scrapbook for music memories HERE
(with The homemade tatoo tags HERE )
The homemade greetings card HERE
and the 'With Love' Chocolate Heart goodie bag HERE
Mostly made from things I had around the house and in my crafting stash. I just bought the Love Heart sweets and chocolate hearts from M&S.
Its the first time I've managed to achieve (almost) everything handmade and I'm glad I made the effort. Valentine's day doesn't have to be commercial, if you are in a position to, make it yourself, there are plenty of ideas to be found on the web.
