Thanks Gem and Beanie. I know I look too deep into the coming months and I could be killed tomorow :rotfl: One day I wont worry and live month to month
We travel on Monday but we will be back Friday so its not that long but its still a nice break. I dont think the weather will be all that good though :rolleyes: More of a chance to relax and do 'free' stuff, think positive
Have a great week all and no doubt I will be posting on my return how I did re the money :rotfl:
keep plodding :beer:0 -
Tiny last minute update from me... managed to get my brother a wallet on ebay for £2.70 inc p&p :j Also on ebay a small gift for the family friend for £1.40 inc p&p :j Now I just have to make a box to put the wallet in (and fill it with silver) and then purchase two tops. The family friends present will have £10 given with it. That means I need to save £55 for xmas day/week and then I have mums £50 if I can manage it :j Still have to buy the cake boxes and bake for works gifts but that wont be too much money/time... I think I have christmas sorrted :beer:0

:rotfl: Babes, I had to otherwise I wouldn't be able to get anyone anything due to my up and coming budgets. At least everyone has something now, just the money to save... Good luck with you shopping. I didnt find that many bargians out in 'normal' shops this year :rolleyes:
~~~
So I am back from my holiday :j I spent £60 (although I do have £6 left) which is amazing. I didnt spend too much and what I did was thought about not like holidays before. However we did have a problem down there. On Thursday we went out on a day trip and broke down. Thankfully we have free breakdown cover with Mum's insurance so they got us back to the holiday park and then they picked us up today and brought us home. Of course that scuppered our chances to visit some of the tourist places we were planning to go to but thats life eh. Now though the car need fixing so I am having to lend Mum quite a bit of money but I should be getting some if not all back next weekend so all is not lost
So thats me for a while. I have just about made it my year on part-time wages :j I need to do a large updated post on where I am with my debts because although I have been hiding them I do have quite a bit of a balance on my credit card now and although I would love to be able to clear it I cant this month :eek: I will plan to do that Sunday/Monday so you can see where I am :rolleyes:
So another week over... Keep plodding all :j0 -
I've started my diary again to help motivate me a little. Definitely give an updated soa, might give you that little bit more motivation!! Sorry to hear about the break down, glad you had a nice holiday though and well done on the spends.0
Hi PAP, I've just found your diary too! Part-time hours rule and it will all break even in the end.
Well done for your spending on hols - I am very impressed and I hope the breakdown episode doesn't leave you too much out of pocket.
I'm here for nagging and support if you need it when 'fess all' with regards to the cards etc. You've helped me so much recently, I'm happy to return the favour.
Good luck with it all. P x.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Babes, :j at your diary, I missed your old one. I am now following and I can't wait for that day to come when you are debt free. I think I will 'nick' your idea for a spending diary again. I did it for months and months but I have let it slip, I must start again. Good luck...
Penelope ~ Hellonice to see you over here. I have about 4 diarys but this is the latest. As you can tell by my post count I am kinda an oldie to the dfw game :rotfl:
I went p/t last year, at the time I was suffering from depression and stuff so it was something I had to do really. Well that or be off sick for a few month. Sadly I didnt realise there was a recession around the corner, so now although I would love to go full time unless I find a new job that isnt likely to happen just yet. i am coping though and living at home is one of the benifits I get from that :T
Thanks I had £160 tucked away but I didnt want to spend more than £100 so £60 is amazing. The breakdown wont cost me as although I drive I dont have a car, it was my Mums car. I am lending her some money to get it fixed but i will get it all back. Once I have it back I want to pay most if not all off the credit card
Thanks for being there Pen *hugs* I must say I am not too overly worried about fessing up because its not too much compared to many on the dfw forum. I guess its all perspective though. As for helping you out I just gave you the tool to use, you did all the hard work and paying some off each day is amazing :j
Good luck with your journey too, we will all get there together... keep plodding as I say on my diary :beer:0 -
***Updated Post***
Hi all, welcome to my updated post on my diary… So its officially been a year that I have survived on a part time wage. At points its been easy, however a struggle too but I made it :T The plan was to go back to full time hours in eth new year. However little did I realise then we were heading for a recession. This has resulted in being stuck at part time wages for the forseeable future unless I find a new job in another place of workAnyways at least I have a job just now :j
So here is my updated SOA, yes I have debt (mostly ran up the last 2/3 months because of a radical diet I am following but I would father lose weight than have no debt at the moment) and although I wish I didnt thats life
£275.38 ~ Argos debt ~ 0% till March 2010
£238.04 ~ Credit Card ~ 0% till December 31st then 6% I think :rolleyes:
Monthly Income £480~£500 (my month is 15th ~ 14th)
Outgoings
£120.00 ~ Rent (still live at home, this will increase to £160 once I am off the diet, & then I have to also start buying food)
£16.00 ~ House ins (3 bed house, locked untill next September)
£12.50 ~ Line rental (for my broadband)
£44.00 ~ Bus ticket (2* 10 journeys, I do try and nab lifts/walk so sometime this is only £22)
£10.00 ~ t v (Virgin through my lil brother, works out as 36p a day)
£200.00 ~ Diet packs (yes its radical, and frowned upon but I have been doing it for 6 months now and I am so very nearly at goal. I have budgeted it in up to and incl Januarys pay, taking me up to Febs pay)
Total = £402.50
Left = £97.50/£77.50
3 Monthly (next December) that I dont save for
£63.00 ~ Internet (BT, middle package. My lil bro has virgin internet but I prefer my own, bt have always been perfect for me and £21 a month is average and I dont have any other vice)
So thats me, I havn't budgetted for entertainment as I rarely go out. If I do I generally put it aside in anything I have 'left'. All my christmas shopping is done except putting aside money gifts I need about £105 however £50 can be given in January if needed. I have just returned from holiday and our next one is planned in May although I am hoping to save for that and pay only weeks before we go. I have a savings tin for this and so far I have £5.50 saved :j
I am planning to keep a spending diary again as I have let it go off track. This only has to be seen by looking at my CC debt. However some of that was clothes because of my lost weight :rolleyes: I really need to rein this in though and get my debts payed off. As soon as I am at goal with my weight though I will have approx £130 to use against my debt and to start saving :T
So here we go back to debt busting while working to a tight-ish budget. It can be done though and I am planning to be debt free by at least 31st April 2010 :j I then want to save and just put aside a fair amount of money and fingers crossed I will be back in full time employment by then too :T
Thanks for following me in the journey and keep plodding all :beer:0
