Evening all I haven't been on here for ages so trying to catch up with all your newsy posts!

We're not currently looking for a house or anything at the mo as can't afford to, but o/h still regularly checks out rural scene. Are there any other property websites you can recommend?

I guess there are probably loads of properties on right move etc but you can't seem to search for houses with land unless I am missing something?

    Hi suzynick, and welcome back.

I know mainly about property web sites in West Wales, even though I've bought in Devon. Over there, agents have dropped in and out of Rightmove, so it has been hard to know who's in, or who's out at any time. At the moment I think these guys are 'out,' but I could be wrong:

    The Smallholding Centre
    John Francis
    Evans Bros
    West Wales Properties
    Fred Rees
    Phillip Ling Estates

Other ones I think are 'in' which have many smallholdings are:

    Profile Homes
    Morgan & Davies
    Jim Raw-Rees
    Dai Lewis
    JJ Morris
    Clee Tompkinson Francis
    Frank B Mason (FBM)
    Terry Thomas
    Bob Jones Prytherch (BJP)

Hope those help you, or anyone else looking in West Wales.;)

In my experience, traditional Welsh agents are more honest than their English equivalents. For example, if JJ Morris list somewhere as 'Under Offer' they won't accept further bids or viewings. Generally, Welsh agents don't leave sold stuff on their websites for long either; it just disappears.

You're right, Rightmove is pretty useless for picking out smallholdings.

We have been in-undated with courgettes lately, o/h announced a further seven (more like marrows) were in the boot of the car earlier

Made tons of courgette soup last weekend, recipe said it freezers well so make double or triple, I made quadruples of the stuff and it ain't that nice! Quite watery, stuck some potatoes in to thicken it up but it still resembles the colour of dish water. ho hum. will do in the winter I guess to warm our tums.

    hey

I don't post too often but I have a great courgette recipe that is great for packed lunches/picnics and is so tastey

    savoury flapjacks

    200 g/7oz porridge oats
    200 g/7oz grated carrot
    200 g/7oz grated courgette
    200 g/7oz grated cheese
    2 small onions finely chopped
    2 eggs beaten
1 tsp dried thyme or sage
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1/2 tsp salt ( didn't put any)

    1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5.
2.Grease a baking tray (Swiss roll tin size).
3.Mix all the ingredients in the large bowl and press into the tray. Bake 25-30 minutes, untill set and lightly browned.

make a big one, then leave it for a day or so in a tupperware container (or similar!!) and it goes a bit like choc fudge cake!

I found with the recipe that I used you can only taste the courgette when its fresh out of the oven.

Send us a peice when you're done! I;ll put the kettle on!
