:o:o I've got three (not counting the one I have in the loft left over from DS and DD!)

The first is the Boots freebie one, which I'm going to pack with a full pack of disposable nappies and wipes and leave in the boot of the car so we don't get caught short when out and about.

The second one to be bought isn't actually a dedicated changing bag, but a rather nice canvas Liz Claiborne tote shoulder bag in red and blue stripes, which I got from TK Maxx. It matches the colour of the pushchair, is fun and trendy when out and about, has two compartments to separate nappies from food and personal stuff, and the free folding changing mat got with my Sainsbury freebie set fits and matches it perfectly. I'll have no problems with using it later as a shoulderbag.

The third was an impulse buy from TK Maxx again. I can't find it online so think the manufacturer may have gone out of business but it's black with a hard shell and has a changing mat and waterproof pack for wipes. The plan is to keep this one fully stocked and tucked away downstairs so that a quick change can be done downstairs if I can't leave the other two kids for any reason to take baby upstairs to the bathroom to be changed. That was decadent though and I wouldn't have bought the third one if it hadn't looked really smart and been dirt cheap at a time when I was buying other baby stuff in the shop :o

That seems that extremely efficient and organised to me and perfectly good arguments for having three bags.

Last time we had a one that matched the mama and papas travel system. But it a rucksack type one that sat on your hip, IYSWIM. It didn't hold much and didn't have enough pockets and compartments. Was very unisex though and OH had no problem with it. Am wanting a girlie one for me and oh can use the boots one as its black and basic. Not tha the knows this yet.

Nicki - Glad you feeling a little better - I bet you can't wait for DH to get home - can't believe he went straight into work!!

    :rotfl:

If you knew my husband, you'd fall over in shock if you heard he had done anything else! The only surprise is that he is coming home early tonight to see the kids before bed.

I love him dearly but he is a classic A type workaholic and always has been since university days. The kind of man who will not go to bed for 3 nights in a row because he is engrossed on a work project, and yet seemingly manage to function perfectly normal, whereas I am falling over on my feet if I am more than a couple of hours late to bed in the evening and can't manage with even one night's lost sleep.

On the plus side though, this talent of his comes in very useful in the first few weeks after the baby is born, when he's happy to drive the little blighters around the neighbourhood all night if they won't go to sleep after being fed, so I can catch up on some beauty sleep!

    Tia, have they booked???

Nicki - Ah I see, you compliment each other perfectly...I'm sure most nights I do the sleeping for both me and hubby, but as you said, it'll come in useful when he's still awake at 3am with our little man ;)

    Skintys just posted on facebook:

"Skintchick is now a mum! Lilia Rose born at home, 1.10am , Wednesday July 22, after 18 hours' total labour, six hours of established labour and 20 minutes' pushing. Just gas and air at the end - hardcore! Baby is obviously gorgeous ;) We're grateful for texts and messages but cannot promise to reply just yet as we're not logging on very much for obvious reasons.

    So baby Skinty is here!

Glad baby's here, and the reason for the radio silence was that she was knackered and nothing more sinister.

    Congratulations Skintchick :j:j

Hypno beat me to it! :(:p

Yes, my baby is here! I will post a birth story but I need to check my notes as some of the details are hazy in my mind and I want to get it right. I also need to process it in my head a bit as it was very quick and very intense and some of it was traumatic, especially as the midwife didn;t realise how far on I was and not only didn;t come to the house for hours but then didn;t actually bring the gas and air with her!

So you have the details: Lilia Rose Hawes Taylor (Hawes i my maiden name, Taylor my married one), 6lbs 3oz, born on my living room floor at 1.10am on Wednesday.

Someone put me on the birth list!

any more births since i disappeared? I will hang around for a few mins now but then will log off for a few days again - we are just learning Lilia's routines and needs right now and trying to get some sleep when we can!
