Not sure how to get this going, so any suggestions are very welcome.

My belief is that many people with a weight problem find it difficult to get to grips with the task of losing the amount of weight they need to be a healthy weight.

My thinking behind the 2 pound club is that a healthy weight loss is 1 or 2 pounds a week, and rather than thinking about losing 1,2,3 or more stone, it might be easier to set a smaller target to work towards.

I've set myself an initial target to lose 2 pounds a week for 5 weeks. At that point I'll set myself another target date, still based on a weight loss of 2 pounds a week. I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't succeed - any weight loss is better than none, and if I do succeed I'll be so chuffed I'll be really motivated to carry on to the next target.

I'm happy to keep a list of members - welcome member#2, Honey! - and to record total weight loss and post an updated list every week if people want me to (and if I can figure out how!).

Honey - do I need to start a new thread for this or can it be part of this one?

    LL
    Start BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.3

    Hi Lois,

Can you add my name to the list on the 2lbs club. I think it's a brilliant idea.

Hi Lois - How about trying it out on here for a while, as most people who would want to lose 2lb a week would generally be on this thread anyway?

I had a look at it Rachie. It makes a lot of sense... I've done quite a few weightloss plans and when I've reached a frustrating plateau it's been a suggestion that was made to me.

If you think about it there are days when you are more hungry than others and I'll keep it in mind for when my weight loss at WW slows down. I've only been following the plan for 3 weeks, but I'll let you know how I get on.:A

i was imaginine that it was going to be like "eat 1 riveta a day" kinda place. i do like salads but i cant eat them every day lol. when they say though "you can eat anything" it seemed a bit "aye right" to me - i would love to eat chocolate but that puts on weight so its a no no lol :(

is it a points scheme or that you have to go by?

hi at ww there are two diets a points and no count which is very much like sw and instead of sins you get 21 points a week
im on ww and on the daily points and i count chocolate in my daily points when i need them i used to be on sw but didnt lose a lot but i think it was because i wasnt eating enough and i was too scared to eat a lot of the free food just in case i put more weight on thats why i chose ww because the daily points are suited to you and you know exactly how much you can eat a day
but what ever plan you use they both work

Cheekymole, you asked who writes the books and makes the rules with regard to 'healthy weight range'. I was told once, several years ago, that those figures are arrived at by Insurance Companies in conjunction with Doctors. The Ins. Co's use those figures to determine your life insurance rates. I always liked the way SW let you set your own target as you are far more likely to stick to it than the artificially low one set by other slimming groups.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
