Hi,
For a general look at prices from suppliers for 2008, have a look at the link below.
The prices on a comparison site that Rian1988 has posted will come up with this cost when entering specific information like where they live and how much they use; there is a link for an independent review of prices for 2008 at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7843999.stm.
Both the percentage decrease and the amount that can be saved are based on the Ofgem average.
All companies work out their decreases/increases in the same average.
As every customer and household is different, tariffs will suit some and not others and some will be able to make more savings than others.
The table on the link shows that the recent British Gas price decrease has brought their prices more in line with other suppliers.“Official Company Representative

I was under the impression that British Gas are regulatory barred from offering competitive prices. So comparing gas prices with them is a nonsense.
And with an electricity standing charge three times the size of others' the 9% reduction is not going to go far. What is the decrease to the standing charge? (I can't find any details of what you will be charging.)
And, of course, Warm Assist is only available to those who are rich enough to heat their homes in the first place - those too poor to do so are excluded. And, of course, those with online tariffs are also excluded from Warm Assist.0 -
Looks like I'm another one - these prices based on Midlands area.
Where would you like me to move to to get the Eon prices to be cheapest???
Prices from energyhelpline.com
Note: I don't think the Southern Electric price includes 4% discount from end of March recently reported either!
Edit: just checked - the prices for southern electric do not include the 4% reduction due from 30 March 2009"Now to trolling as a concept. .... E.ON refuses to budge on gas bills...Gareth Kloet, head of utilities at Confused.com, says: "E.ON has made its announcement two months before the changes will become effective. With the cold weather continuing, it's not what customers want to hear. Coupled with the fact it is not decreasing its gas prices, this announcement leaves a lot to be desired."..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... In response to KimYeovil the information you have got on Warm Assist is wrong. It is a product of its own, you can still manage your account online with the tariff, but you can't have online prices as this is a different product.
You can't merge two tariffs together; you can either be on EnergyOnline, Capped, Staywarm or Warm Assist etc. They are all individual tariffs that offer different features and benefits.
Just for clarification, Brian, Malc and myself post on the forum in an official capacity. Our aim is to offer general advice on the energy industry.“Official Company Representative
