Any of you guys getting any other furntiure for your nurserys?? Im on such a tight budget Im struggling to justify anything at the mo.

all I would say you need for the first 6mths or so is
3 drawers (ie 1 chest with 3 drawers in it)
something for bubs to sleep in
    changing table

That all chris had and we didn't struggle with that :D all I've bought since is a little clothes rail - same as this http://www.urchin.co.uk/product_categories/2-urchin-kids-bedrooms-play-rooms-childrens-bedroom-furniture/products/3698-wooden-clothes-rail
and a toy box for the lounge

Lisabell - you can do a wish list on mothercare site (it a personal ist not to be confused with a gift list ;)) you could make that then print it off and ask your mum or someone to keep the "main copy" then you don't end up with 2 off something and who gets what would be a surprise.
    or
do what I do at xmas and just make a list in word or something with pics of products and where u have seen it and give to mum as with other one.

    Re Changing tables

I don't have room for a changing table in our nursery, we got one of those cot top changers which fit over the top of the cot during the day, it was absolutely invaluable last time and i noticed in mothercare that they do one with a little pull out drawer to stand things on now, might be a plan if you are short of space?

I'd say not recommended for boys tho :rotfl:our change table is against the wall and the wall has been weed on many a time :rotfl:we have a cot top changer for travel cot but its never been used because of this :p

  • shelvis - If it is any help my house is still standing (although on the inside it looks like it has been turned upsidedown :o) Most mornings this week I have got back from the school run and gone back to bed :o I am just too darn tired to do anything or too sicky... I am doing my best to ignore the mess - there will be a day soon where the whole lot gets blitzed - just not today :rotfl:

Are you going abroad? just asking as I found a travel insurace place that is supposed to cover you up to 36 weeks. Long story but we haven't booked hols yet as we were ttc but because dh's last VR hadn't been sucessful the redo was like a last chance saloon type thing... lol we managed 1st time (again) So rather than going in August we will need to go at the beginning of July. Just don't want to book until after 1st scan.

Congrats to everyone who has had good news and (hugs) to those in need.

gtg and find something to eat - just so pernickerty at the min I don't know what...

I am going abroad (Italy) when I will be 29 weeks to a friends wedding (also booked before bubs arrived in belly!) so if you have the name of that I would be very grateful!! I am not going abroad at 36 weeks though thats just in the UK.

  • I have just bought a Maxi cosi car seat in amazon at £63.99 :T :T :T

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maxi-Cosi-CabrioFix-Seat-Carrier-Black/dp/B000MF2E7A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid=1232119199&sr=8-1

They can be £115 (and the cheapest I have seen has been £80).

This seat, when fitted with an isofix base, came top of all the Which tests.
