Hi everyone
Caterina you would be very welcome to stay, but 26 hours on an airplane is enough to put most off!
Newlywed- Kahlua Recipe
4 cups sugar
2 cups boiling water
12tbs instant coffee
3tbs vanilla extract
bottle vodka
Mix all together and put out of sight(and mind) for at least a month. Then enjoy.
My 5 for today are:
1. Dyeing fleece for homespun blanket.
2. Spinning more wool for the blanket, its growing at a great rate.
3. Weaving lesson - making some tote bags for the Christmas hampers.
4. Making some parsnip wine with parsnips a friend dropped around.
5. putting up a bean fence in the garden and planting borletti beans and luffas up it.0 -
:hello:
1. Just loving this thread because it is making me feel very positive
about things which may otherwise seem hum-drum.
2. Walking in the 'woods' with DGCh. The woods being a narrow strip
of ground next to the railway but the children think it is wonderful.
When they are happy, I'm happy.:j
3. Making Christmas cards with DGD while the snow came down outside.
Snow in Ocober? Well it was quite atmospheric.
4. Not OS but such a bonus when one is as old as me - tips and help on
the computer from DG 10.
5. Putting them to bed and having a well earned rest myself.:T

The day is still young so I anticipate the pleasures to come but kicking off with a "Thought for the Day".
Arn't we a lucky bunch of people that we can gain so many pleasures from the simple things in life without spending vast sums of money, and often nothing at all? .:T0 -
Well said primrose, can't agree more.
My 5 for today
1. It's a beautiful spring day, the high winds of the last few days seem to be over.
2. This afternoon I will have another lesson of Tai Chi in the village hall, I'm finally starting to get the hang of it.
3. The winds did not destroy the baby apricots and peaches in the orchard.
4. Will be spending most of the day in the garden, and will be planting out the basil seedlings.
5.Will be using the first of the asparagus in tonights meal.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
1 & 2.) Walking a mile ( there and back ) to a friend of my daughters, house, she cut and highlighted my hair for half of what I normally pay in a salon.
3) Lamb chops for tea, yellow stickered of course. All veg from garden.
4) Hearing my daughter has got a part time job, makes a change from hearing about people losing theirs.
5) Phonecall from an old friend who has just completed an 80 mile trek along the great wall. For charity of course. This is a lady who was obese for years and is now reclaiming her wasted years.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
Primrose - love your 'thought for the day'
My OS pleasure today have been:-
1. A lovely walk in the snow and sunshine with DGCh.
2. Stopping at a children's playground and seeing them ignore the apparatus just to play with the snow. They loved it.
3. Calling in at Mr.S and finding a yellow stickered piece of brisket reduced by £2.
4. Starting to fill up the gaps in my freezer again.
5. Sitting with my knitting to recover now my little visitors have gone home after their two night stay.

Only one pleasure to share today so far. Whilst vacuuming I noticed that the machine wasn't picking up very effectively so checked the fabric dust bag and found it full to bursting point. Not having a replacement bag I had to spend 20 minutes in the garden patiently pulling out all the fluff with a pair a kitchen tongs and decanting it into a carrier bag! Then ureeka, out came one very bedraggled sock and to my pleasure I realised that it was the missing partner to the solitary one which has been hanging on my clothes airer for three months waiting for its soul mate to reappear! So my tighfistedness has resulted in one pair of socks going back into circulation.0
