  • nice one voodoezoe, i can't find the right icon  but it's nice to sell, then it's not so nice when you see the charges. better than it lying on a shelf somewhere though ;) i might take up the pro-merchant thing if it's ever half price again. it seems that's how people make money.

larmy? if i get any more pending i might just ignore them. they asked me to wait 72 hours, but never said when the 72 hours was up  i can't be ar*sed with mails from xywxz at yahoo wanting my book/cd/dvd  why don't they get a real e-mail address?

keep laughing, i might list mine if it ever goes half price again :D

probably someone with the same item? but not as good larmy? i think those with thousands of ratings are a bit annoyed. amazon are quick to send mails out about pending, but not undoing them.

i'm not falling for that pending bl00dy nonsense again ;)
  • Hi
Been reading the thread with interest… time to jump in :)
Firstly thanks to AT for the original thread, firstly it prompted me to clear my shelves and now I can hardly pass a charity shop without going in.
I have had a few of those pending sales, the last one for a book which was listed at £27.50… annoying but I waited the 72 hours and then re listed, it sold almost straight away. A few hours later the original buyer e mailed me to ask whether I had received their payment because it wasn’t showing on their account. I felt a bit guilty really, maybe I should have made an effort to find out their e-mail address and contact them to see if they still wanted the book but I assumed Amazon would do that when there was a problem with the transaction. Does anyone know if Amazon e-mails the buyer to let them know there is a problem with their payment.
Anyway, since I only paid 50p for the book I could wait another 3 days for a nice profit :)

I've just got some discarded books from the library at a bargain price. I've listed them already so fingers crossed. One book has a buyer waiting, and three were not listed by anyone else. Another which is very obscure, has two books listed at over £20, so I've put mine up at £15 to see if anyone bites.

    This is sooooooooo addictive :j

This is great, it hasn't come up in the thread before so thank you - I'm not sure that I've got the mental energy to list at the moment but after Chrimbo I'll put a few on and see what happens.

    I've sold my first book :j :j

Only been on a week - but was the only one of that title on there.

Now I've got a couple of questions :o

Do you email the person when you dispatch it?

And with the money - it says it'll automatically go into my account on 26th December but if I want it now I can request it - was wondering what other people do? Would like the money now but wasn't sure if there's any penalty for this etc :o

Sorry if they're really silly questions - really excited now :money:

  • Well done Yorkielass, feels good doesn't it!

I always email the buyer so that they know for certain that you got the order and you've dealt with it, secondly if there is a snag they know how to get back to you quickly without having to go through all of amazon to find you.

I don't think that there are any penalties for asking for the money before the due date but even if you do it today it will take around a week before it hits your bank - sorry.

Just had one of those dreaded pending emails, havent had one for a couple of months,I thought things were going too smoothly.

Anyway I have sent the buyer an email saying if its not paid by 4pm I am relisting it,do you think this is a little rash,Out of about 4 pendings I have never had one that has gone through.
