Big Thanks AT for the best thread on here!

congratulations apprentice tycoon
someone asked about musty smelling books i think? i had a few so i put them in a box with some soaps the wife had been given.nice they were too, but she doesn't know i've used them yet! woods of windsor things. i didn't even take the stuff out of the wrapper or the box. i just undid the lid and left it.
and patchoulis, is that how it's spelt? you can get tubs of rocks from tx maxx and no need to take them out of the plastic bags they're sold in. my books smell like a tarts boudoirso if you smell either aromas in a book, i've flogged it.
well done again apprentice tycoon. i've picked up some handy tips, especially about parcelling stuff up and all the 'pending orders', that i ignore but maybe shouldn't?
and i sold a cd that cost 20p for a profit of about 3 quid earlier.
i might pop to the library if i get time and as long as they don't expect me to show a library card. i think i've still got an outstanding fine0 -
Congratulation!! And a very big thank you!!0

this is a brilliant resource apprentice_tycoon thanks so much for starting it!!
i have finally gotten off my backside and have listed 24 items on amazon so we'll see what happens
i've hedged my bets and listed some of the items i have on my swaps list for read it swap it because i get to choose if i want to swap from the requesters list
i figure if the item has a lot of competition on amazon and won't sell for much i may do better getting something off their list...
will be interesting to see how long before anyone buys anythign
just out of curiosity how long does it usually take? i've got self help and fiction, non fiction and cook books on there plus a few videos and a dvdfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

My sentiments exactly - I'd been hunting for a part time job very unsuccessfully (as only wanted one day a week) and now I'm doing Amazon I reckon I'm bringing in as much money as I would earn officially working. And what's more, I actually enjoy doing this.
As a bit of a venture, I bought 200+ hardback books today for £20, advertised in the local paper. A lot of them are 1p jobs so will go down the charity shop asap, but there are about 40 good ones, so I'm hoping to get a fairly hefty return on my outlay.

that's the way purplepatch. the classified ads are always a good source i think, and after listing stuff we owned, those 1p best sellers , the way forward was to buy other peoples books. plus no-one's encroaching on anyone elses territory, so to speak.well, not unless they live near each other which would probably be a fluke
i seem to spend all my spare time comparing book prices. i've only read about 4 books in 3 months  which is why the swap a book idea is being left on the back burner for now. it seems a good idea all the same, so thanks to whoever mentioned it.
but it all keeps me off the streets i suppose0 -

There's no rhyme or reason to it really. Some items I've sold the day after listing and some after three years...I've got stuff on there that I've given up on, videos with hundreds of other people selling them etc. I've sold all sorts, football books, self help, fiction, victorian cut outs, cross stitch, CDs.
It was a good little earner when I started but now is no more then pin money. In the new year I think I may have another grand de-clutter or else start trailing the charity shops.0 -
