**BG NOTE**
This has been a wonderful thread and I am quite addicted to Amazon now. However I wonder if the thread has got too long to be useful to new members, so thought I would ask if users would prefer me to close this thread and open a new Amazon thread part 2? Obviously I would ask AT to start the new thread and to point back to this closed thread.
Let me know your views please.

I think that is a good idea Soolin. However here is my last donation to this thread then.
I sent an email to someone saying I would post their book today, and could they also allow a bit of extra time for the post. I then went on to say I hoped they had a good Christmas.
This was the reply:- "Whoa.... this is so human.....mate! Thank you for your quick reply". I have to say it did make me smile this morning :rudolf:Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi soo - in terms of pure yardage this thread must be long enough to wallpaper a four bedroom house
I have a sideways suggestion
Do you think that I should edit the original post should to put in most of the relevant later points that have come up recently such as
the latest suggestions for wrapping the books
what to do if you get a pending message
first class post or second?
and also anything that other people could suggest that would make the first post 'complete'
Then (a bold suggestion here) what if this spruced-up first post was made a locked sticky as well as start a new amazon 2 thread, that way a newcomer can look at the first post, then they may want to join in the amazon 2 discussion thread0 -
I like the idea of a roundup post to start off the new thread AT. However, I don't think we can sticky it as the board already has its quota of sticky posts but this thread does tend to move up on an almost hourly basis anyway!
I'm going to pm you AT

mike55 wrote:i seem to spend all my spare time comparing book prices. i've only read about 4 books in 3 months  which is why the swap a book idea is being left on the back burner for now. it seems a good idea all the same, so thanks to whoever mentioned it.
but it all keeps me off the streets i suppose

why not list some of those books that arent worth selling on amazon. as long as the postage isn't too much it may be worth it for the books you could get in returnyou don't actually have to read the books you get from there

Following on from my post last night, I'm going through some of the books I bought yesterday.
These were being kept in boxes in the loft and there is evidence of some slight dampness. No staining or anything horrid, but for example there is a good housekeeping cookery book (listed currently at £20+) which appears brand new, but for the fact that there is a slight wrinkling to the pages. Perhaps wrinkling isn't the right word, just that when you look at the pages sideways on they are not totally flat but ever so slightly wavy. Am I making sense?
Question is, how do I phrase my wording? These aren't horrible, damp, manky books, they just don't look totally perfect - a mention of the word damp will probably make potential buyers run a mile. I know there is certain terminology like tanning for yellowing, shelfwear for creases etc, anyone know anything suitable for this?0 -
Had you tried putting them under a heavy weight? this may uncrinkle them, I think I'd try this for a week ot two, then list it, you may not have a problem after all0

Thing is, if you don't make the first one with all AT's valuable info a sticky it will soon disappear down the board as it will only be the new discussion thread being bumped. I appreciate that the new thread will have a link to this one but I'd suggest giving the new thread a title that will still attract newcomers.0 -

I'll give that a go, will put it at the bottom of the pile and see how it goes0 -

We were considering the same thread title but 'part 2' with the first post by AT having a link to the original thread.
