I have a question regarding ISA transfers and hope someone can explain.
I have had a previous ISA account with Yorkshire Bank, where I stupidly withdrew money from and only left the interest that has been paid on the ISA account. So that is a small rest sitting in one account. Then I have had my Egg ISA paid out this week which makes account two.
I am looking for a good deal on a new ISA to invest in this year's allowence and wondered if it is possible to open a new ISA account and transfer the money from the previous two accounts.

Yes - just make sure that the new ISA is one which accepts inward transfers.

HSBC e isa now stands at 6.25% which is a pretty good rate at the moment.

    [strike]... and it accepts transfers:

"HSBC also offers a Cash ISA which offers tiered interest rates, meaning the more you save, the more you earn. Transfers in from other ISA providers are also accepted. These can be applied for by telephone and in your local branch."[/strike]

    wrong info...apologies

Hi, I'm just looking to open my first ISA and was wondering if the Julian Hodge Bank Fixed Rate ISA at 6.5% was too good to be true? I just called them and apparently its not showing on their Interest Rates table as 6.5% because it was only changed yesterday, but it is 6.5% for 1 year. Is this a good fixed rate? Thanks for your help in advance!

    hello

i opened a nationwide bond isa. i had the interview 13/3/08 but the account recieved my transfer in from my other bank account and opened on 15 april 08.

Ive recently found out that i cant add any more money to it because its a bond and it only allows one lot of money in which was my transfer in from my other account. yet i still have my £3600 allowance to use.

So my question is can i open another isa account now for my £3600,.

    thanks.

From other posts on this board, you can open multiple Nationwide ISA Bonds, up to the annual Cash ISA allowance. So this year's money could be paid into another NW ISA Bond (or bonds).

The transfer is irrelevant unless you have paid any new money in since 06/04/2008.
