Overpayments and bank working against us
Although I am currently in 4 year of a fixed rate, the bank started what they call a yearly review of their mortgages under the banner of checking that you will still pay off your mortgage at the end of the full term. I am however an advocate of overpaying, and have been doing so on this mortgage for the last 3 years which…

Product Transfer advice - Bluestone
Hi - looking at possibly remortgaging with Bluestone due to adverse credit. If we were successful in our remortgage application and secured a fix - either 2 years or 5 years, how does it work with Bluestone when the fix comes to an end? Do they offer product transfers? I know you have to apply through one of their…

Tricky situation with mortgage and moving
Hiya, We're currently coming to the end of our fixed term 2% and they're moved us onto the variable rate of 8.7% with Halifax!! How much can I borrow calculators accuracy
Are those calculators actually accurate or should you reach out to the bank directly? They only take into account income and not credit score or any other details so it does not feel like this is accurate. Do I need to go into a branch and talk to them if I want a good estimate?

Advantage of remortgaging to buy second home?
Hi, I'm trying to understand the difference between these two situations. Suppose I own a house outright (worth 100) and have 20 in cash. If I want to buy a second home that's also worth 100 without selling my first one, I can either: * Use a single mortgage to buy the second home, with 20 in deposit and 80 in mortgage…

Hello. I'm in a jam. I have a flat in London that has cladding issues and no ESW1. I have permission to rent it out as I've waited seven years for the intrusive survey. I would like to relocate and buy a house. I have a pretty decent deposit and good credit but I was rejected because they suspected I wanted to rent it out.…
