My wife has been contacted by this company saying she can submit a claim against Marks And Spencer Credit Card and Goldfish as they increased her credit limit without obtain signed authorisation.
They charge an admin fee of £249.99 + 10%
Has anyone heard of Tucan or dealt with them
Thanks

Not heard of them, but if the account holder calls both Marks And Spencer Credit Card and Goldfish and requests their credit limit be returned to the original level, they should do so and won't charge a penny."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

Is this company still going? Obviously they still are.
They used to come up a lot on this boards as a dodgy one making false claims of mis-sale. Havent seen their name mentioned for a while though. My wife has been contacted by this company saying she can submit a claim against Marks And Spencer Credit Card and Goldfish as they increased her credit limit without obtain signed authorisation.
That is not a valid reason for complaint. Its an easy rejection. The FOS won't even waste 2 minutes with it.
Assuming Tucan were planning the legal route (which so far the courts have so far consistently ruled in favour of the lenders) they are in breach of ministry of justice rules as it is forbidden to cold call where legal action may be required. Any solicitor taking on the case from cold calling is also breaching the law society rules. They charge an admin fee of £249.99 + 10%
That is £249.99 you will never see again. Plus the 10% has VAT on top of it. So, add that 20% on. However, its irrelevant as there is no chance of success when using an increased credit limit as a reason.
Tucan are laughing all the way to the bank. They get £250 up front with each person greedy enough to be scammed and send a second class letter to the card issuer with a template complaint that the card issuer will reject. Tucan then tell you that your claim has failed or will fob you off by pretending they are digging in further and looking at other action but do nothing after that.
Its a great scam. All you need to do is keep cold calling until you find a greedy consumer who is enticed by getting free money (their debt cleared). Its a bit like the Nigerian prince spam emails where they want to send millions of pounds to the UK via your bank and you will get a but but you need to send them £x amount first. Or the lottery win where you have won £1million but you need to pay £x first to get that money. Tucan probably get 1 in 10 people they cold call sign up. If the sales rep does 50 calls a day thats £1250 a day income. 5 days a week and thats £6250. 50 weeks a year and its £325,000. The biggest company that did this managed to get around £30 million pounds off people before they closed down and took all that money with them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi
We have had a very bad customer experience with Tucan Claims. It has been appalling and I am very angry at the way they have treated my friend.
I have never posted to a forum before so you can imagine how angry I am!!!!!!!!
I would never recommend anyone to use Tucan Claims
They are a con and a company who should be reported to Watchdog. Which is probably going to be my next step.- They are quick to take your money £250 +
The ignore emails. - They do not answer the phone or and keep you on hold , whilst you incur phone charges.
- They do not return phone calls.
- When they finally do respond to emails they have a lot of excuses.
- The whole process has dragged on
- They never communicate back to you
- We always have to chase them several times
- We were constantly told they are going to send a letter.
- They make false promises and then do not deliver on them
Recent Email response example below from them , just to prove my point ....
Thank you for your email. We recently sent a letter to your bank informing them that your account is in dispute until they comply with our demands. We have today sent a letter chasing them for their compliance. Once we have had this compliance from your bank we will be in contac with you.
Why have they sent a letter Today ?????
They were supposed to have the case settled 14 days from the 13th January !!!!!!!!!!!! It is now the 23rd February 2011.
Meanwhile my friend is incurring bank charges.
PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY Tucan Claims. Please be careful if you are already using Tucan Claims.
I would advise emailing them every day.
I am going to try my best to help my friend.0 - They are quick to take your money £250 +

Well it proves one point I suppose. Not sure it was the one you were hoping it would though..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Talked to some agent called CHRIS who mumbled his way through the call and said he was the manager, the guy did not have a clue and was saing he could not help me with more information as he knows best, in the end i put the phone down and called again. Got through to another agent who could give me the information i needed if you get him ask for another agent or dial again:mad:0

These jokers tell you they're lauching a legal fight on your behalf and then make a complaint to FOS. Which costs.... NOTHING.
A trained chimp could do it.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you truly believe the bank has done wrong, complain to FOS yourself, and save some cash. Claims management companies generally do very little. They fill in the FOS form which you can download yourself, use standard wording which will get you nowhere as its not relevant to your complaint.
For those that have lost money using these scammers, I really am sorry. I hope you get some good luck along the way to recoup it somehow.0
