New plan...time to see some movement! 23rd Aug 18 at 3:29 PM
    Hello!

I've decided it's time for a new diary. I've been doing a lot of thinking recently and have come up with a new plan.

My debt is all at 0% on my DMP and is just clearing, albeit very slowly at 1 a month. This will increase when little miss gets her free hours at nursery next year.

Our mortgage is 118,511 and the only interest bearing debt, on a tracker rate so vulnerable to interest rate rises. I'm very happy with the rate though, and we can make unlimited overpayments, so for the time being, not looking to fix.

I still need to pay back 2400 for my car.

We need to start doing some of the work to the house that we've been putting off for years. So we need to get saving for that before it gets to a stage where we have no choice but to do the work as an emergency.

My new plan therefore is that I am going to let the DMP run itself, focus on paying back the car, the mortgage and saving for the house work. I will be trying to build the emergency fund/F&F fund, so that if my creditors offer a settlement I will hopefully be able to take advantage.

I hope that by changing my focus I will keep my motivation rather than getting fed up about not seeing any progress towards my debts. The mortgage will go down regardless of whether I manage to make overpayments, and hopefully the savings will increase!

DH did do some clearing yesterday Some stuff shifted and a little bit of space cleared I've got a load of listings to do now.

Today as we are not going to the VW show, we are going on a family trip to the cinema. It will be little miss's first time. Then I'll splash out on a takeaway tonight as we haven't had one for months.

    Have a good day everyone

Cinema trip was good yesterday but little miss was a bit fidgety. Will probably leave it a bit before we take her again.

DH sold a few more things yesterday so that's all posted today.

I've caught up with surveys and redeemed a 5 amazon voucher.

I'm going to take mine to Toy Story 4 but they won't behave! Its meant to be an incentive to get through term but it's not working. My youngest is nearly 4 and I still haven't taken them yet. I'm too chicken. I'm definitely not doing it alone.

Great news on getting rid of stuff. Well done xxx

Having one of those days today!

Little miss was messing around and fell out of bed this morning, smacking her face. She seems ok, but I then had to peel her off me at nursery, she was clinging to me and crying. I phoned up to see if she was ok, and they said she told them she wanted a day at home with Mummy I haven't heard any more though so hopefully she's ok.

I've had a call from the trampoline club cancelling the holiday club that I'd booked little jwil on, so I've got to rearrange that now too

DH got snarky with me as I arranged a sale for when I'm out at SW - it's not my stuff, he can deal with it! If he wants to sell bulky stuff he can be there to do it

I had a bizarre dream this morning and was getting irritated with people in my dream, and it's carried on from when I woke up definitely got out of the wrong side of bed this morning!

I forgot to mention yesterday, I had a call from the MH team cancelling my anxiety CBT course, as I'm 'not anxious enough' Well that's because they assessed me while I am on medication and it's working! What am I supposed to do, stay on it for the rest of my life? I can understand they don't have enough funding to support everyone and there are people out there much more in need than I am, but it's crazy So if I want any help now I need to go and pay privately. I can't afford to do that so will just have to suck it up.

How annoying about the CBT course, it's all about short term solutions due to funding issues.

I hope the big item sold while you were at SW.

Are you having a good weekend?

We had a lovely day out yesterday, it was nice to see the sun again!

We went to the seaside for a few hours, then popped into a car boot sale, then stopped at a farm shop where there are lots of animals to see and tractors etc to play on. The kids absolutely loved feeding the chickens and it was so funny to see them running down the path with a large crowd of chickens running after them (the other side of the fence)

The sun has gone again today which is a shame, so a quiet day at home. I've tidied the kids room yet again, tidied their toys downstairs yet again, and had a clean through. I am trying to keep on top of things better so it stays cleaner. I've meal planned for SW (gained 1lb last week so need to get on with it!), been shopping, and took the kids over to see an elderly neighbour as it was her birthday.

Packed 4 parcels to go tomorrow and now trying to get some listing done.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend. Little jwil has inset Thurs and Fri so I've got Friday off this week, looking forward to it!
