Hey Lovelies, hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far.
I promised I'd post more this year, so this is me checking in with my resolution.
Having a really rubbish start to this year, as my wonderful mum passed away suddenly, a couple of weeks before Christmas. It still doesn't seem real, and I still can't accept the situation. I have her handbag sitting on a door handle next to my bag, and have been through it several times to find cards, driving license etc to cancel, and know that she has some loose change in there. If she was here, she'd put the change in my 'sealed pot' ready for Christmas, but I can't bring myself to do it.
Anyhow, will keep potting my end of week 'leftovers' for now, which this week added up to £10.63
Well done to everyone, keep up the potting, and hope you all have a fantastic weekend,
Cinders x
Sorry to hear this Cinders, Its lovely that you have something of hers to remind you, don't worry about potting the coins just yet, you could always just estimate the coins value and pot it with your coins and then when you feel the time is right, you can repay yourself, this maybe an alternative solution, what do you think?
Keep potting and keep remembering those good memories you have of her...

Sorry to hear your sad news Cinders. I lost my dad 2 years and 3 months ago, suddenly, so I understand a little of what you are going through. Thinking of you. xx
Well I haven't been around for a couple of months! It's been one thing after another. Anyway have potted around £15 since Xmas. However I need to get back on the MSE wagon with this challenge and reducing my spends. So here's to finding my focus.
Hope everyone's wellSPC 14 Target £200 /

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, and Westie, that's a great idea. Just really struggling with everything at the moment. Fortunately she was really involved in our lives, so we all have loads of happy memories of her.
Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine today xSPC # 1150 -
Good evening SPers can I join please?
I'm just saving shrapnel under £1. No point in saving £1 coins as I understand they will no longer be legal tender at the end of October.
If i save notes I'll end up raiding the pot at some point.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Potted some shrapnel and went crazy and chucked in a pound. Catching up on the thread I remembered that they won't be legal tender when I open my pot...oh well, I normally take it all to the bank and put it in my bank account anyway so it's not really a problem.
Happy potting.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Hi everyone
I owed Mum some money and didn't have any change. Gave her a large note and got a plastic £5 in my change which I've duly potted.
Keep potting people!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
