Thank you so much to everyone for your very kind words. I've been referred for CBT and DH is being incredibly lovely and supportive, along with a lovely couple of friends. Just getting through at the moment...

However, potting continues and I've posted a fair few silver coins (DH is still leaving cash around) and some £2 coins. However, the £2 coins are specifically earmarked for my road tax. :)

I have decided that I am going to cash in my sealed pot early this year and then re-pot again after that.

The reason is my best friend is getting married and she knows I have very little money, but obviously I want to contribute (they have asked for money to go towards renovating their house) so I am going to cash in the pot before her wedding at the end of May and then get a new pot after that.

Have over £2 in my holding pot, want to see where I stand financially before I pot it.

  • Put another 2 £2s in the tin on Friday night. It's a bit of a slog this year! Must be all us £2 coin collectors causing the supplies to dwindle :rotfl:

A very Good Morning Potters! Here's hoping you all had a super weekend and, aside from the rain, you enjoy the week ahead too.
To all our members who are poorly or down in any way, take great care and let these {{{{hugs}}}} help you feel much better soon. :grinheart

Thanks a lot for the wishes, mrs-moneypenny. What a magical time it'll be for you with your girls going out looking at wedding dresses as well as bridesmaids dresses, such a fun family thing to do together! :happylove:happylove:happylove:happyloveWhen is the wedding to be?

Another lovely lot to have potted, 32b3, great work!

    You also Chutney! :D

Your Friday £10er into the pot again, Lynne, well done!

Oh Cinders, I'm so terribly sorry to hear you lost your darling Mum, what a time of year too. My sincerest condolences to you and all the family. It'll take a good while for you to accept the fact that she's gone, sadly they're a huge loss, but in time we get more used to not seeing and talking to them. Keep her in your heart and she'll always be there with you. :) You leave her money in her bag until you feel right about potting it; you'll know when the time is right. You've saved very well, and she'll be pleased for you!

I must admit to thinking of you, ETO, when replying to Cinders, I remember what a shock it was for you when your darling Dad passed away so suddenly. You've saved a splendid amount, VERY WELL DONE!!!! :T Anytime you want a leg up onto that MSE wagon just say the word and we'll be there to help you! :D

Excellent saving Dizzy Imp! Your chicken really want the best for you! :j

I do wish I hadn't read your post about you having had a Chinese, 32b3, I've fancied one ever since last night. :( Still you potted some great cash as a result so good news there :D - plus - I saved myself from the calories......though I'd sooner have had a Chinese!! :rotfl:

Well saved donkids22 and some good converting in getting your OH into what'll turn it to be a great way of amassing savings!!

I totally agree with you mossy, the £1s are never worth worrying about as I'm absolutely positive the bank will swap them given that it will be November anyway. Well potted!

You did well for your Mum and for your pot, 3forholidays, who can argue with that!

All the best to you when you get paid, Ladykernow, let's hope it's a good amount.

It's so good to you again, Vicky! All the very best with the CBT, you'll get there with much love, patience and being kind to yourself. Huge {{{{HUGS}}}} :grinheartfor you. Good savings and a great idea to make sure of the road tax.

Aha.....the pig's belly will have been so grateful for that wonderful feed, Miss DM!!

A good move in getting one of the apps to help you with budgeting, tatabubbly. Good savings btw. Your poor little treasure, teething is such a horrible time for them to go through, a 'plenty of cuddles from Mummy' time for sure. :grinheart

Brilliant saving MLE007!!! Try and keep it up as best you can.

Ok Florence, that's quite understandable, just don't forget to add whatever the May total is onto your siggy so you don't forget to add it when you declare in Nov. ;)

I'm glad you've been able to get more £2 coins, MrsShazbat, there you are see, jakes-mum doesn't get the lot......even though she wishes she did!!!!! :rotfl:

That's excellent news Treasurequeen, and all best wishes in achieving your goal!!!! :j You'll get there if you stay focused!

You're all saving so very well, everyone, keep it up all through the year and you'll be pleased as punch in November!!!!!

Come rain or shine have a lovely Monday, Potters, and your pots!!! :D

    Afternoon pottersssssssssssss

So much sad news at the minute :( huge hugs to each and every one of you that is having a tough time at the minute

I currently have a poorly DD at home with me as her throat is swollen up quite spectacularly and I am sure I saw some tell tale spots at the back of her throat last night when I was sticking my fingers in her mouth while DS was trying to shine the torch on his phone down it so we could see :o She has a doctors appointment anyway today so will get him to have a looksee while we're there, but until then shes happily munching on toast and jubbly frozen lollies.

DH went down the pub on saturday and returned with 2 x £2 coins for my tin :D and after checking the bank to see how our month of cash only spending has gone, I have a couple of hundred pounds spare  am starting to realise how much I was chucking in the pot each month :rotfl: so i've taken £100 out and put it in the note saving, I figured that if I had been potting all my change like normal it would have ended up in there anyway so might as well pot it in note form :o

There was no pennies left over from the meal out money :( but we did have some lovely dinners :D

Finally, we had DD's birthday party on the weekend (I have never managed to do it anywhere near her actual birthday, so feel 12 days late is pretty good going for me) 5 friends and DD at ours for Pizza and a movie, cost me £35 all in  ususally its over £100 with the rental of halls and equipment! and they were all happy as larry :D
