Hi Can anyone help me out here,

I have been reading all about cleaning up the files and I have 4 to sort out with 3 lenders.
Do you have to contact the customer services first off as the letter says that after writing several time to CS with no response??
Next quest - I have now found all my original papers and it appears that one of the creditors was missed off the original order ( this was because since 2001 I had not been dealing with this bill as my ex took it over when we split and it never occured to me to mention this - However it appears through lying they have found me at this address, he has defaulted on payment and it now sits against me too), it was a joint account to get new windows at the time, is there anything I can do with this??
I hope I am making sense here LOL

Would appreciate any help in this matter

Oh I forgot to say my Order was in 2008 and discharge in 2009

Going back to my original question. Can I ask advice on changing status of one of my accounts. One of my accounts has a default date of Jan 2006 which means it is due to drop off my file in Jan 2012. I was mad BR in Sept 2007 and discharged in Apr 2011. If I contact this account and tell them to mark account satisfied as per BR will they then change the default date meaning I would have to wait a further 6 years for it to drop off my file or am I best just leaving it to drop off in Jan 2012

    Cheers for any advice

    Hi,
I've been doing my post-ED cleanup, and had an interesting response from Experian when I sent them my discharge notice. Not only did they update the file, they put notices of dispute against all of accounts that weren't showing as satisfied, and even contacted my former creditors for me to tell them to update their own entries! Even better, when the creditors did correct the entries, Experian sent me letters to tell me. I'm not a subscriber to Credit Expert: they just did this because I'd sent them the discharge notice.
I'd already contacted the creditors anyway, but perhaps this won't be needed for some people if Experian do it for you. Would save a lot of hassle and recorded delivery costs if it did work. :)

Incidentally, this is the letter I sent to the CRAs:
    CreditExpert
    PO Box 7710
    Nottingham
    NG80 7WE

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I enclose confirmation of my early discharge from bankruptcy. Please amend my file to reflect the fact that my bankruptcy is now discharged, and all debts are now satisfied.
    Yours faithfully

    etc

I was discharged November 2010 and started my Credit Clean up towards the end of February. I wrote to my 5 creditors, using the letter from the Credit Clean Sticky, along with my BR certificate and Discharge notice.

It is being a little bit a pain in the rear. One creditor wrote back saying I didn't send my discharge notice, another is investigating the matter and will get back to me by 3 June (all I asked was for my files to be updated!) one creditor has updated Experian correctly, but with Equifax they have put the defaulted date after my BR date.
Another credtior has put my account as settled but has put different defaulted dates on Experian & Equifax (both after my BR date:mad:.

Do I now need to contact them again to ensure they input the correct information I requested them to do?

Does the information for an account after be exactly the same on Experian & Equifax?

    Thanks in advance

Right I have managed to get nearly all my creditors to update their files on me. There are just 2 that are showing a default, should I write to them again or just go straight to the ICO with a complaint?
The 2 are Nationwide and Northern Rock Loans.

Hi - I'm about to begin the mammoth task of cleaning up my credit file but have a question which I'm hoping someone can please help with.
A couple of my debts look to have been passed to Debt Collection agencies (e.g. Moorcroft & Blair, Oliver and Scott) in the couple of months prior to my BR; when I'm sending the request for my file to be updated (along with the discharge letter), do I send it to the people I originally held the debt with or does it go to the new agencies? The reason I'm unclear is my CRF only appears to show the original creditors and not those who the debt has been passed to?
    Thanks!

    Just an update.

I have managed to get the majority of creditors to update my crf correctly however I have not had any response from the following creditors:-
    1.EGG
    2.Santander/Cahoot
    3.3G mobile
    4.Shop Direct

Does anyone know the addresses for the data controller in which to send another letter to.? I have tried the addresses via the data controller search link on these forums.

So far i have had about 12 accounts marked as settled/satisfied and the default date ammended to my BR/Discharge dates. All dates so far have been the BR date.

I have opened a cash plus account, and have obtained a 24mth contract on Virgin Mobile and a 30day rolling contract with T-mobile. I also have 3 settled payday loans from the "money shop" and "i advance" which is part of the cash plus card.

I have started to clean up my files and there are only 2 who have not complied. They are Nationwide BS and Northern Rock loans, is it worh sending them the paperwork again or go straight to the ICO and compalin? I have also sent Experian an email informing them about the misinformation they hold about me, whether they will do anything about it is anyones guess.
