NINJA SAVINGS TURTLES
Welcome to the final quarter of 2019 (the last 90 days sounds too apocalyptical). Time to pause and think about where you want to be now, in the next few months and going forward into 2020.
AS we all know, the perfect time to do something never comes. Stop waiting ... for the weekend, for a new year, for things to change. The best time to start something is right now.
To inspire us I am using 'the words' of some of the houses in GoT. This is a Turtle Alliance of some of the great Houses of Westeros, we will use all their collective wisdom to fight debt, increase our spending and do all we can to keep our families and ourslves safe, warm and healthy and have fun along the way.
House Stark's words are
This needs Planning and Preparation
Before the Start of the Month You MUST
Set Your BUDGET for the Month
AUDIT your Cupboards, Fridge and Freezer
Make a MEAL PLAN starting with what you have in (unless you have already started to put things aside for a special occasion
Plan for the MONTH - what is happening, what commitments, appointments, celebrations, once a year bills are coming up.
For the Next Ninety Days
What is Your FOCUS?
What do you want to happen?
What needs to change? It may have to be You
SET some goals. Break them down into Monthly and Weekly targets.
Think in terms of small changes that you can make NOW.
House Lannister's words are
Plan for the Month
You must PAY to YOUR DEBTS or SAVINGS FIRST and live on what is left.
INCREASE your income if possible
REDUCE your outgoings eg by using own brand products or changing your supermarket?
Can you MEND, MAKE or MAKE DO instead of Buying?
For the Next 90 Days
CUT out any unnecessary socialising
CUT Screen Time
Be Mindful, Meditate, Read or just spend time with Nature or Candlelight (you can't see all the 101 things you think you 'ought' to be doing).
LOOK for any free activities or events in your area
House Martell's words are
We all get tossed by life's storms. Sometimes we are still dealing with the latest disaster when the next crisis bowls us over.
This Month
Whatever happens you need to KEEP GOING.
Whether you stumble, fall or get knocked down you need to GET BACK UP (it's fine to stay down for a while, get your breath back, check if anything is broken).
RUN, WALK or CRAWL
If you can't run, walk. When you can't walk, crawl.
If you are CONFINED TO BED or the couch, PLAN your next moves and find things YOU CAN DO from there (I always found tackling the mending pile was a good thing to do when recovering from flu). Progress is progress, no matter how slow. What you don't do is give up because of one tiny slip.
LOOK AFTER YOURSELF so that you can look after those who depend on you.
For the Next 90 Days
Introduce ONE HABIT to improve your health
Do something FOR YOU each day
BE KIND always (everyone you meet is carrying some burden)
House Reed's words are
The mud men live simply. They also spear frogs.
SIMPLICITY has been a recurring theme in this year's posts. Treading lightly upon the Earth and being at one with nature fits with the turtles holistic approach.
This month
Concentrate on the THINGS THAT MATTER, your home and loved ones, health and happiness.
Make a FROG LIST - try to tackle one a day.
CONTINUE to SIMPLIFY your life, RELEASE unwanted possessions and REDUCE things that cause you stress.
DONATE - time, goods or money
BE GRATEFUL.
For the Next 90 Days
Think about what really matters to you.
What can you do to get closer to living the life you have always wanted?
What no longer fits in your life?
Visualise Your IDEAL DAY
Make a list of GOOD THINGS that you want in Your Life
The challenge runs for the whole of October.
You will aim for 15 No Spend Days.
Who will join our October Adventure?

I'm in mothernerd. Thanks for the new challenge. I've tried to watch the first episode of GoT twice now but can't get past the first half hour so I'll settle for not having a clue what you are talking about - nothing new there though:D.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Are you saying I talk a load of *$^*!!! dolly. To be honest I wasn't sure it was even comprehensible. I was just so anxious to get it down before the laptop went awol again. Kat often did threads based on films or tv series (I had to read the Hunger Games books as a result). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

I won't make you wear lycra, I'm a lycraphobe myself unless it's covered with a lovely long t-shirt, smock or tunic. Not to be confused with a lycanthrope (it's the werewolves in tomatoes than stop you getting cancer - explanation later). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
