One comment about the bankruptcy process, anyone else find this hypocritical? comic even?...

The courts (rightly) say it's wrong/illegal for Banks to bill us £25+ for a letter, (my bank now charges £12 for admin)
    BUT
The courts... those guardians of fair play... charge us a WHOPPING £70 for a letter to show your discharge from bankruptcy!

not a replacement for the careless who lose it, no... for the first one! that creditors may demand to see to clean your credit report!

    something's wrong there!

1 hour of admin worker's time (slowest worker ever) £10. 500sheets of A4 £10. Kodak black ink £6ish... an envelope... 20p? a stamp45p? and it costs £70 to send?

Well I have officially completed my clean-up.

It funny, the whole process has been quite satisfying. I've been signed up to Equifax for a free trial, so I've been generating a new report every few days and got a little buzz everytime one of my creditors updated my file. I know its kinda lame, but now its done I have a weird sense of satisfation. :jNot sure why, as i've merely got my old creditors to update things to exactly what they should be. Perhaps its because it feels like I'm moving yet another step closer to rebuilding and have a new (and normal) life again.

Anyway, I just wanted to share and would totally advise everyone to go ahead and do it. Its super easy and there are a numerous various reason why everyone should.

Have just checked my online credit file with experian and the Nationwide account now says this,

    Special Instruction Indicator: Partial Settlement
    Special Instruction Start Date: 0x/0x/20xx
    Started: 0x/0x/20xx
    Default Balance: £xxx
    Overdraft Balance: Satisfied
Defaulted On: Date of my BR

Does this mean they have now updated their records and it is now "satisfied"?

I received a letter from Eversheds today saying MBNA sold on my account to them last month which is odd as I've been discharged since March this year...

Spoke to the OR and they said they are just chancers...

Anyone else had a similar letter today?
