Netflix is only £6 a month. We use it and it is terrific. Currently working our way through all of the 'new' doctor who's which is mad when you realise they date back to 2005!! But that's keeping us busy. Plus we've enjoyed all of the Orange is the New Black 3 series run, a fantastic drama called Bloodline about a dysfunctional family in Florida. And lots of things apart from that. My son uses it every day too for old classics like Garfield & Inspector Gadget plus new stuff too. Get it!!

Thanks Bob! I think I need to sort that out this weekend. The thing I'm not sure about is there a US and and UK version (have heard people talk about it) as programmes/movies are different on the two? Not sure if I'm talking rubbish :rotfl:- just haven't had a chance to look yet......

Productive day so far, Just need to maintain pace....

1)Dropped off DD at work at 7am
2)Fed pets at a neighbours as they just got married after an eternity of living together (two of their children got married last year!)
3)Cleared up an embarrassingly messy kitchen with dishes everywhere, dishwasher humming away, pots and pans washed.
    4) First load of washing almost done - perfect day for drying - its positively tropical outside already :)
    5) If I can maintain energy levels will hoover walls everywhere today as can see a few cobwebs, and Halloween is too far away.
    6) Got kit ready for fun part time job today, need to leave at 2pm. Too hot for it today, am starting to wonder whether I want to carry this on but at the moment every penny coming in counts.
    7) Too hot for gardening, garden looking very dehydrated at the moment. Will leave that until evening.
    8) Need to pick up order from Ne*xt in town -got a £20 off code for recommending a friend !
    9) checked bank accounts this am and was very pleasantly surprised as got £30 cashback for a purchase in DIY store from when we were doing my parents bathroom! I'd obviously activated an offer but I never pay much attention to them - Thank You Lloy*ds:)
    10) Tackle piles of paperwork

    Hi NOA
So the Netflix thing. Well, I pay for UK Netflix. But you can pay for both. You can also fiddle it so you get both but only pay for one. But if they catch you they will ban you from ever being a customer again so it seems a big risk to me. Not saying you are even considering doing so....
I don't know of any real benefits to getting US over UK. But others may think differently?

Sounds like you are having a very productive day.

    Thanks Chev and Bob:)

Didn't get a chance to check upon Netflix today,
but I went shopping to try and buy shoes/sandals for me as mine are all dead.

Sales are on and found a lovely top short sleeve, warm (autumn wear I think) the prettiest pale blue. Fits me but DD tried it on and it looks nicer on her than on me.....£8
Another jumper in pale blue and grey lovely and soft - perfect for Autumn- looks lovely on DD but makes me look squarely than I am......£8

Black leggings in really soft jersey - so comfy £12 so comfy so worth it even though full price.
Black jeggings half price at £22 but I got £20 voucher for recommending friend to Nex*t fit DD perfectly so she benefited again
Then there was some jewellery on sale and I got 3 pairs earrings for £2 which she loved.

So, a successful shopping trip ----but none of it for me :(

Back at work tomorrow, I'll say nite nite and sweet dreams

    Good Morning All :)

Six days at work, which I have enjoyed. Funny how politics infiltrates every work place and even in a work environment where most people are temporary/seasonal/filling in gaps. It has been quite amusing to sit back and watch the characters jostle for position for the most trivial. Some great team workers (the exams need marking within a deadline - job has to done whatever it takes and done well for the candidates sake), some just get on and do what is necessary, others cherry pick the best job because some tasks are below them, some feel they can only get recognised if they put others down all the time. :rotfl: It's all the same as it was in a big corporation on a micro scale.

Opened yesterdays mail and our fixed rate mortgage has ended and payments have gone up £200 :eek::eek: rate now 4.7% from 1st August.
At a loss what to do as have recent defaults on unsecured debts. Mortgage all up to date - payment never missed in 30 years ( same provider for 22 years). If we go to them for another fixed rate they probably won't give us another deal? Anyone had any joy in this situation?

Hoping to get on top of domestic chores and go and see parents for a couple of days .

Came home from work yesterday - another silly flare up with DH - so went and lopped to disperse my anger, now have huge piles of loppings everywhere to pick up today. Honeysuckle triffid has gone particular wild and reached the eaves level of the house so need to get a tall ladder to bring that back under control.

Feel very edgy today, have a billion things to do and have flitted from one thing to another since 7 this morning but not stuck at anything. :( Will escape into garden again if it stays dry- very humid today.

But I smile each time I walk into dining room because I have a humungous bouquet of flowers - neighbours got married last week and brought round one of their wedding arrangements for me:) a few days ago.

Can you believe that neither DH nor DD noticed it????? its only about 4 feet tall and two feet wide.....
DD also stressing about going to my parents for a couple of days - because they don't have internet. A very sad place the world these days. :o and going away on holiday with family ? not sure if I can be bothered to organise it now - the only criteria DD /DS want fulfilled is wifi, so I might as well save the money. :(

Feeling very old and out of touch with the times today (she says typing into the ether?)

Why not tell DD to buy a dongle if she want the internet so badly? You can get payg ones....I've been looking at it for when I go back to the caravan so I still have internet there having got so used to it here.
