Has anyone tried whether people could get cash back of 0.5% with cash withdrwal in ATM abroad ?
If not what is so special about this card. Subprime creditcard like Aqua, Capital one + Specialist debit cards will do a better job than this card.
Nobody said it was special. It pays 0.5% on UK and overseas purchases with no ATM fees or exchange rate load (just interest on ATM withdrawals). There are very few cards offering actual cashback any more, especially on overseas purchases.0 -
I have a credit balance of £1200 per month the first month I paid about £480 and on the statement, it said left to spend £720.I thought that when this money was paid the £480 which I have the direct debit that the following month my credit limit would go back to £1200. now I only have the second month a credit limit of £480.when you use the chat service they take a long time to reply and some of the replies look like they are not reading what I have said and are taking the p*ss.0

You have a credit limit of £1200.
You spent £480 so had £720 remaining available to spend.
The £480 was paid off by direct debit.
Right so far..?
Your available credit did not return to £1200 after the DD payment..?Evolution, not revolution0 -
It might be because what you write is quite hard to understand - I'm certainly struggling.

yes, that's 100% right.0 -
yes, that's 100% right.
The DD will only cover the statement amount, anything you spent since will again reduce the 'Credit left' amount shown in the app.
As long as the 'Credit left' (available to spend) plus the 'Balance' (what you have borrowed by spending and not yet repaid) adds up to your credit limit of £1200, everything is correct.
Am I making any sense..?
If you have doubts about the accounting you can take a calculator and start from the beginning - plus all the amounts you spent and minus what you paid back, cashback and any refunds. You should end up with the current amount shown as 'spent'. I did that myself a couple of days ago.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Ok, so presumably you used your card to spend some more since that statement and before the DD was taken.

it looks like now all I can get is £480 one month £720 the next month could I ask you have you ever paid your bill sooner from say your bank account if so did they get the money quickly and how long before it showed in the app thanks.
I did this in order to have my full limit available for a trip next week, but as everything was done using my phone I could actually do it any time and anywhere I happen to be traveling.
Perhaps you were expecting your DD to be taken when you receive your statement, but it is not taken until the 'payment due date', about 26 days later. You can pay any time, but its best to await the statement before paying off the balance shown if you want your card utilisation to be reported in your credit history.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Have read all this with interest - not put off by struggles with the app as the cashback home and abroad is appealing.
I have one question I would love to hear about though. Anyone who has got a Tandem Cashback Credit Card recently, how long did you have to wait to receive it? I am going on some long trips this year and want to know if I can expect to have the card beforehand...0 -
Tandem say a week and my experience mine came within this time with the pin within 3 days.
