This is a continuation of this thread which was closed due to it's length.
Official MoneySavingExpert.com Insert:
What's it about?
Back in July 06 Bailey started this thread to help all pregnant MoneySavers and their partners save on anything pregnancy-related plus give each other moral support. It's been hugely popular and now has a long list of pregnant mothers-to-be. Now it's not just for those that are pregnant but also those trying to conceive and MoneySavers that have probably already given birth and yet are probably too tired to let everyone know.
What should you do?
As well as being a great source of tips, baby-related bargains spotted, mutual support and help MoneySavers here have also gradually built up a list, adding themselves to one of these categories (the last one, people are moved to for obvious reasons!):
- EDD (Estimated due date if you're pregnant)
- TTC (trying to conceive if you're not) we now have 2 seperate threads for people TTC - 'Trying for a Baby' and 'Trying for a baby (12+ M/not straightforward)'
- Birth List
- Probably given birth but too worn out to log on list
- Click on the link at the top of this page that says "Last" (it'll take you to the last page of the discussion)
- Scroll down until you find the message with the very latest copy of the list in (if you use one further up the discussion other peoples' changes after that will be lost)
- Copy that (highlight it and click control+c)
- Click reply at the bottom of the thread to open a screen where you can past it (click control+p)
- Add yourself to the list then click save
- And don't feel shy. Introduce yourself, say hello and ask a question if you need to.
Also please don't forget that this is a public forum and anyone could be reading it. Don't let this put you off discussing anything personal, just please be aware that the people posting on the thread may not be the only ones reading (it may just be that these people, aka lurkers, are too shy to post).
If you're new to the Forum it can look scattergun but read down and remember it's a conversation, starting with first post, scrolling forward for the latest. To reply you'll need to join the Forum but it's free to do.
Now enjoy your pg natter

Freebies!
Ladies please remember the following rules
PERSONAL DETAILS AND THE OFFERING OF ITEMS FOR SALE/TRADE/EXCHANGE/SWAP/GIFTS
Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.
If someone appears to be selling items on the board it may be deleted by the board guides/forum team. The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount.
MEDICAL ADVICE
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
CODES/VOUCHERS:
For legal reasons codes are only permitted on the Discount Codes n Vouchers (Online and Offline) Board and must be sourced and indicated who it refers to. If in doubt please read this and this for an explanation. Any posts not meeting these rules will be moved. Do not pm others requesting such codes
FREE TO JOIN BABY CLUBS:
Tesco Baby Club - Free Pampers Hamper containing a few wipes, nappy sample, some Olay stuff. You need to buy a pack of Pampers to get it, and it's not stocked in every store so check before you set off.
Boots Parenting Club - Free changing bag when you buy a pack of nappies, I think it's Huggies but it might be Pampers. You need to wait for the voucher to arrive.
Sainsburys Little Ones - Free Mum and Baby bundle with toiletries, to be collected from store.
Emma's Diary - You should get the vouchers in the pack from your midwife but if you don't or you want more freebies you can also register and download them here. 3 bags containing lots of samples and a can of Peartiser.
Cow and Gate - You get a free cuddly cow but you need to find a code, these are normally in Parenting mags so either have a look in the shop or on the Discount Codes board.
Aptamil - Free cuddly polar bear.
Those are probably the main ones but have a look around as other places will send out vouchers, nappy samples etc. Also most of these will send you a voucher for money off nappies/wipes so keep an eye out for offers, I got 6 packs of Pampers Sensitive wipes for £1.66 with the £2 off voucher that came in my Bounty pack.
A more comprehensive list of freebies and vouchers is here. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Oooh can I get the first 'chat' post?! Just seen the bits on the old thread about cot bumpers. I have 2! One for each end of the cot. the info I read was that they were fine to use up to 12months but to remove them then as baby will be moving around more and might get tangled in them. I know loads of people who have used them and none of them had any issues so I will be using mine too.
Snoopy, I only ate the biccies because I wanted to, deffo no sickly feelings, just greed lol!0 -
I didnt use a cot bumper with DD1 or DD2, but did with DD3. I loved it as where she had a dummy, it was a God send for stopping them rolling out of the cot and onto the floor where i couldnt reach! Most ties are very very short now anyway, so baby couldnt get tangled up in them. But do check everyday to be on the safe side. They are also handy for if you check on them in the night, and the hall light for example would shine on their faces, the bumper shields some of that light so as not to wake them up xMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3, and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T0

Hi,
Please can I join you all? I am expecting twins (our first babies-thank goodness!) on the 18th May and am trying to get my head around all this baby stuff, but it is a bit daunting! The one thing I'm loving is the extra scans we are getting-I love seeing them wriggling about!!
