Oh Alice it sounds as if you've had an awful time of it. It must have been so draining for you all and a real upset in the family dynamics. You've done everything you could and if it hasn't worked out it really isn't your fault.
Great news on finishing the debt. Have you got any plans for the £50?
Re cabot do you think they mean they'll start charging interest on your oh's debt?
We're due some hot weather next week so hold fire on the washing! Well done on the nsds.

Sorry to hear things haven't worked out with DL, but as you said, you tried and gave him a second chance.

A couple of things I've spotted from your diary:
Work's lottery - do you ever win? Would it be worth piggy banking the money instead?
Also - there are a lot of collections at your workplace, are you ever on the receiving end of them?

I hope the week gets better - no pegging out here and I've just put the heating on as Pickle is wearing thermal trousers, vest, top & jumper and he's still got ice blocks for hands.

Hi Wish, I'm devasted to be honest. Plus it's been really hard keeping it low key in front of DS3.

Hmm the works lottery, it's one of those we have have won, certainly not what we've paid but you know. :o.
We do have a lot of collections at work and it has been noted. I think it's because there have been so many special birthdays, a few getting married, new arrivals.......and then some clown decided we should include special anniversaries.......of which me and OH just about make it to the next year let alone a special anniversary.:rotfl: But yeah my special birthday was celebrated.:D

I'm really trying to leave the heating off today. It's certainly warmer this afternoon but everywhere feels so damp.

Hi V, thank you for your post. It's been really tough but we tried, that's the main thing. Our family dynamics are in complete disarray.

On the debt busting in front, I am so please. Once the last payment has been made we will put that extra £50 towards one of the smaller debts I think. We've got two that sit around £280 and £220.

OH has just spoken to Westcot. We will carry on paying £5 per month, no interest to be added, review in 6 months. :)

Woohoo looking forward to some sunshine.

Alice - Sorry to hear things haven't worked out re DL.

But you never know. Some years ago a close relative fostered a 15 nearly 16yo girl. Someone her daughter knew. I thought it a bad idea for several reasons that I won't go into here. Within 6 months the fostering had gone wrong and the girl moved out. Later we heard that she'd had a child at a (relatively) young age eg 17/18.

Fast forward to a couple of years ago and the foster child, now an adult well into their 20s, emailed my relative and thanked her for the time she'd stent in her care, because this had made her realise she had a different pathway to the one she'd thought she had. She was working in a school and about to study for a degree.

So, who knows how it'll turn out long term. You've done your best and that's all you could have done.

Thank you dawnybabes and Spendless, that is a very sweet story. Finger crossed DL comes good.xx

This weekend all went into a bit if a blur to be honest. Saturday we had football in the morning, then had my hair appointment £28 , and then went to watch our local footie team in the afternoon. Spent £30 on tickets and £12 on food....yeah I know.

Yesterday we food shopping £60.08. Did manage to get some bargains on meat, must of been in the right place at the right time.:). Had to get petrol, again £25. Bit of a spendy weekend.

Managed to do some jobs outside yesterday, just general sweeping up and weeds from the drive. Does anybody else leave the house in the morning and the drive is weed free, then come back later and a few sneaky weeds have popped up out of nowhere!! :rotfl:

Today was a NSD, number 7.

I have £4.30 in my purse to last until Thursday.:)

You having your hair done is more important than a ticket to football!
    Hope you enjoyed the appointment.

Haha thank V. It definitely is.:D

It's been a quiet week, upto 10 NSDs. We actually went to 2 football matches yesterday and didn't spend a penny so I'm rather pleased with that. Also last night because we'd had such a busy day I really wanted to just order a takeaway, but resisted and had poached egg on toast with beans, and yes it hit the spot and saved some money.:)

I've just done a list for the food shop this morning. Have two loads of washing pegged out and another load in the machine.

Will go shopping, then do a few jobs outside and then got my family coming for dinner later. Family dynamics (OH's side) are in still in complete disarray, and of course I'm the bad guy but heyho.

On the car front, one of the cars has developed another oil leak so that's on the garage tomorrow. We have been offered another car for a bargain price of 1K, well looked after, low mileage, service history, you know the usual stuff and if we had the money we'd snap it up.......but we don't so hopefully the oil leak is nothing major.

Hope everyone has a good day.
