Last year we had wings at Hooters on our first morning and they were so good we went back again next day. This time they were bogging! Now bearing in mind that we struggle to fit in all the restaurants and eateries we want to go to in the 2 weeks we are there, it was a double blow. We haven't wasted time trying again. It also proved that it is hard to suggest or recommend places to other people. Mon Ami Gabi is another case. A lot of people love it, as we did years ago, but the last couple of times we were there it wasn't just sub-par, it was bad.

I have to admit that when we go, we never go to any of the places that a lot of you lot mention on here, EXCEPT for Ellis Island, which someone mentioned before we went in 2016 and we thought we'd try it, and loved it, and the Pizza place that is in Mirage that we couldn't get near last time, but have visited a couple of times before.
We just go to the food courts or maybe a buffet (which I think are a huge waste of money, but DH likes them).
I don't think there is anything wrong with going to a Panda Express - which needs to come over here, or a Nathans, or any place like that. Even the McDonalds is vastly superior to the rubbish we get here. The fast food is decent enough for the money.
I will say though, that part of it is because we seem to lose a bit of our appetites when we go over there. I think the heat does have something to do with it. I tend to drink tons of water and just have small meals.
We do keep meaning to try the Peppermill, and never get round to it. I will have to put it on the must do list if we get to go again.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

Apart from Stuie, I haven't seen anyone mention where they have eaten, unless I've missed it.

We are foodies, especially when we go to Vegas. However, like you, I just can't eat for the first few days after long haul, but I only figured out in the past few trips that there is no point wasting money on buffets or nice meals for at least 3-4 days. That is when I might have a Denny's breakfast (but only manage one of the pancakes), share a Panda Express or have an In-n-Out Burger. It's not what we eat all the time, just till I get into my stride.

We hadn't been to Ellis Island for a few years, but went there after Raiding the Rock Vault at the Hard Rock Hotel. OH had the steak special and I had the prime rib, which was lovely. Our server however was not. He greeted hubby with, "Good evening sir and how are you?" while ignoring me then asked him what dressing he wanted on his salad. I asked what the Soup of the Day was, seeing as he didn't mention it, and he pointed at his watch and sneered at me that it was finished.

He continued to fawn over hubby while ignoring my existence. Big mistake. Huge mistake as in Pretty Woman at the shop on Rodeo Drive mistake. I sat quietly, eating my rib, biding my time.

When he handed the check to hubby, hubby pointed to me and said, "Give it to the Boss". The guy spluttered a bit and said something along the lines of that hubby would be paying. Hubby corrected him and said no, that I would be paying. The guy's face fell a mile. I now regret leaving a 15% tip and wish I had just left a couple of dollars and a note explaining why, like I did at the Aria buffet.

Anyhooo one place I haven't seen mentioned on here that I can recommend is Second Street Grill at the Fremont Hotel. They have a T-bone steak special which is not on the menu. The service there was outstanding and reminded me of how service used to be in Vegas and the true reason for giving a gratuity, not just because it's expected.

Another is lunch at Triple George Grill, excellent.

I’m one of her Facebook friends, so hadn’t noticed she’s not been on here. She and hubby are fine.

OH hates Peppermill more than he hates HHAGG. He thinks both places are quantity over quality and won’t even consider going back.

The only time we've been to the Peppermill was on our first visit. I still have the glass cocktail glass to prove it, which was free just for visiting as all the casinos were throwing things at you back then. I may still have a cap from the Sands somewhere. Never felt a need to go back and any reports I've seen recently haven't changed my mind.

Went to HHAGG a second time incase we had caught them on a bad day the first time. Equally as bad, just awful. I'd rather pay twice the price for half the quantity of good food.

BTW, we visited Ocean One for the first time in a few years, despite walking past it most days every time we're there. It hasn't changed, in fact it may even be better now it's no longer a secret. Good solid food and drinks.

Hash House A Go Go. There is one at the Linq,or at least there was when it was the IP, but I've had no reason to check if it's still there.
