Check if your uni is a member of the British Computer Society. The BCS website has an online bookstore and I've noticed if I check it at uni, the prices are discounted. I think this only works if your uni is an accredited member tho.

McDonalds - you get a free hamburger, cheeseburger or McFlurry with a Value Meal
Microsoft Office - get it at educational prices 63 quid for MS Office Professional http://www.studentoptions.com though you need an 'Athens' login to access the site (your library will tell u how to get one)0 -
This link http://www.isiccard.com/discounts/search/ gives you a searchable lsit of discounts,
Its actually for the ISIC card (international NUS equiavlent) but should be fairly similar.
Dorothy Perkins has been giving 20% recently, not sure til when though.0 -

I went to paris last weekend and got £5 off the return eurostar fare with my ISIC card; and despite the claims by the bloke in STA showing it didn't get me any saving at the really expensive places I went to (like the eiffel tower, and versailles)0 -
Pretty much anywhere in the world that does a discounted student entry fee will accept an ISIC as proof of student status, whereas they may not have a clue what an NUS card is. I used mine for a couple of museums and other attractions in the States last summer.
It's a bit late now but probably worth knowing that ISIC cards are issued per academic year, valid from September for 16 months to the following December, so if you buy one now it will be valid until December 2005; buy one in September 2005 and it will be valid until December 2006.
If you don't have a branch of STA Travel near you you can order an ISIC by post. http://www.isiccard.com/ (although they charge you an extra 50p postage) or http://www.bunac.org.uk/uk/ (click the slightly misnamed "Apply for your ISIC/IYTC online" button - BUNAC don't charge extra postage).student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
if you present your student card they give you 15% off... worth having me thinks..
some new look branches will take your normal student card others will only accept union cards.
