    #20 reporting 1200 for January.

Managed to get the car through its MOT and insured it for the year and had the credit card to pay for the last of my christmas holiday (use the credit card to spend abroad, no christmas presents on it). All in all not too bad as that was a total of about £500 of 'one off' expenses and still a decent saving.

Should have 2 bumper months coming up. Friend's hen to pay for, but hopefully no other one-off expenses coming up (though you just never know).

Use the form on post 1 in the thread - it makes it easier for slowlyfading to pick you up and know when the updates are done. We had some form problems at the start but they are resolved now

    Hi all,

Just doing my January update now got a total of £1225.08 saved.

£900 has now gone into saving accounts, a little bit more cashback and interest added, another week of saving on the 1p challenge (and I am going to open a new saving account for this rather than hoarding the cash at home!) and another £50 of saving on shopping!

Just about to update the spreadsheet! Done well for my first month! :D

    £2295.20 / 10k saved.

Decided to count my paypal as this will always go straight into savings. It's most of the 1% challenge earnings. The rest are floating in my main account. I have streamlined my direct debits, so hopefully next month I will have a clearer idea what is 'spare' money in my current account and so will be able to save it.

To help me keep track: £1000 Hsbc 5% saver, £100 Orbis, £400 Wealhify, £142.30 paypal (1% challenge), £400 in TSB account £300 TSB 5% saver.
19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!
:heart2: ..... to buy my first home. :heart2:

Current goal: €151,000 deposit Ireland and counting, to buy Spring 2022 we hope!

You just send the information, using the update form and Slowly Fading will update the spreadsheet in due course, you can view what your total is and everyone elses but as you say its in view only mode so you cant enter your own amounts.

Thank you! Not sure why I was trying to do it all backwards :D

Great work in January everyone, I'm also off to a flyer thanks to some overtime, a birthday and some luck in the markets. @Slowlyfading, I'm really sorry... I put the wrong number on the update form !!! I am number #73 and I wrote #83 by mistake ! Sorry for the inconvenience.

    £12k again.

Thanks again for all your hardwork in organizing/running this SF!

January 2018 Update. Bit fragmented at the moment because I just moved house, so have lots of new bills etc currently in progress of sorting out! Hopefully February onwards will be a lot more consistent.

I have found myself quite short on ideas to put my savings. My Nationwide Regular Saving matured in January, and need a new home for it. I recently opened TSB Regular saver (only 2% interest) but still need more places to put them, I'm reluctant to put more into P2P as I already have a lot there and I can't seem to find the right account for me. Any advice appreciated.

I used to have Nationwide FlexDirect earning 5% on £2,500 which is now expired, is it possible to re-open this? If so how?

    £658.10 saved, split as below:

    HTB ISA - £200
    RS - £250
    P2P - £208.10

February 2018 update for no.16, reporting £754.88 total savings.

Just back from holiday but money for that had already been put aside, so had an otherwise good month due to impressive OT effort by my other half and no council tax to pay for this month.

Have opened up an AA Savings Account at 1.32% interest to supplement the regular saver, and give us more flexibility with some of the cash going forwards. Continuing at £100 per month for now into regular saver, £654.88 into the AA.

Hoping for a similar amount next month as wife did similar amount of OT (she's paid for OT a month in arrears), although I'm currently toying with the idea of some new car parts which may put a dent in this.....

Wife works part-time (10 hours per week on a nightshift). She's looking to change to 7 hours per week (dayshift) as the swap between days and nights is tough, especially with a young baby, and the loss in income is offset by better quality of life, plus it'll make it easier to get some overtime in...
