Payday has arrived and money allocated to each relevant account. No idea what's gone on over the last month but I won't be making up the money I took out of savings.
Going to need a miracle this month to make my £500 OP in Feb. I am £300 short. Unless I take another chunk out of my savings. I know it will make more sense going against my mortgage as it's a higher rate but I don't like my savings reducing! Sad times
Going to take some photos of bits I need to sell to try and make some extra cash.
£3.25 from Quidco today has helped ease my mood a little.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Will having your savings be lower motivate you more to make up the difference? Or can/will you work throughout Feb to find the £300 otherwise?0

It's a shame me or DH can't work overtime otherwise I would be tempted to put the extra hours in. Going to have a talk with him about spending tonight and try and draw up a plan to save a bit more over the next couple of weeks. Try to use up some of the food that's been lurking for ages to save on the food shop.
To be honest, we are both not big earners (under the national average which I think its around £26k????) and have a child to provide for so maybe my ambitious savings thinking is just a bit too ambitious.
I will definitely make the £500 OP on 1st of Feb even if it means taking some out of a savings account. I need my mortgage balance to decrease as much as possible so I end up paying less. If I don't get that little fix at the start of the month I might lose my mind lol. I will do my best to find the £300 from somewhere though.

Lots of reasons to get excited this week!
New month, new mortgage payment paid, plus £500 OP
Managed to save more than I thought in January so only had to use £100 from my savings to make the magic £500.
No council tax to pay this month or next :j
Get my first exam results tomorrow hopefully ....... ok, maybe nervous not excited lol

DH is in the doghouse!
Told him we needed to cross 2 bricks off the house on the fridge as we have now got into the £108 thousands. He didn't get the special brick colouring in marker pen, but ruined my house with a Biro pen  Made some stupid squiggles on each brick so now the whole house looks odd and unmatching.
