  • Zoopla thinks our house has gone up £63k since we bought it 2 years ago. I view that number with lots of skepticism, but it's actually not too much higher than the bank's value (which they didn't tell us directly, but going off the LTV rate we got for our fix they seem to think our house has gone up £56k).

I also like to check on rightmove/etc for houses that look interesting, just to keep an eye on what they're being priced at - it's a good sanity check for us...all very well to be excited about £50k-ish increase in house values but if the one you want to move up to has gone up £60k you still need to play catch-up a bit. :)

It's crazy isn't it! Especially thinking from a mortgage/lender POV I could no longer afford my own house :rotfl:

Slowly chipping away at my 0% CC balance. Now stands at £3340 instead of £3500.

Not looking forward to my normal credit card bills in Jan! All this xmas shopping (that I haven't actually done yet) is going to cost me a small fortune.

It's obviously a load of tosh SJ. Also I guess it depends on location as well. Over here (SE) it's crazy prices. Not as bad as London though!

And in true Christmas style fashion, my car has a decided to get a puncture! Good thing I have cover with my Nationwide current account. Made the call yesterday and within 10 mins had a very nice man round to change my spare over for me. He couldn't find the puncture though and said it's so small it needs to go in a huge tank to find the split. Hopefully I can now drive it somewhere for repair and not have to spend dosh on a brand new one.

Another unexpected expense for me :(

I take Zoopla with a pinch of salt.

We've been in this house for 26 years, so Zoopla doesn't even give us an estimate. But the prices estimated for our neighbours are way over the top, I think

Hope your car repair isn't too expensive

My zoopla estimate was about 15-20k low thing is it doesn't take it to account any work u may have done over the years so mine for eaxmple hadnt been touched for about 30-40 years so you can tell it what youv had done/ how much youv spend ect

House is worth what someone will pay :]

Not updated much recently, due to a very busy month. Nearly finished shopping. Nipping out in a bit to pick up a few last minute bits. Then afternoon filled with wrapping, cheesy Christmas music and a nice drink or 2.

£500 OP all ready for the new year.

Merry Christmas to all. Have a great one.
